Another uneventful evening at work, the most exciting bit was de-limescaling the bar sink. I did manage to read a few chapters of my book and enjoyed that I was being paid to read!
Absolutely hammering it down at the moment, Colin has come in to sulk. Double sulk and I have rubbed him down with a towel and all his fur is standing on end.
The Captain is now in the playground [hard standing area] as his field has now flooded. He's only out there for a few hours though and is much happier eating hay in his stable. The wet weather is making him very stiff and he is on a half dose of bute [painkiller] until the weather dries up. Poor old lad.
I had afternoon tea with DD yesterday before work which was lovely [as was the carrot cake] we had a good old catch-up and giggle. She will move into her new flat on 8th February so is very excited. I noted down a few things she liked whilst we window shopped and will pick them up for her as a flat warming present at the weekend.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Well . . . I hope that Colin's worming pill worked while he was outside!!! I can certainly remember a few *incidents* when doing the deed!!! Maybe the pills are gentler these days!
Glad to read your happier posts today. I do hope that nastiness is over and that you can resume your normal life.0 -
Aww you sound much happier, and I hope the glum spiked colin is coming round too. Never mind Captain, I am stiff as a board in this weather. Pain in the neck!! Lovely quality time with DD it seems and so nice to be able to treat them !Trying to shift that debt!0

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:That'll be the coffee over the keyboard, thank Greying. Everytime I read it I start laughing again :rotfl:
Dearest Piq - if I can make you giggle a couple of times in almost as many days, well, then that has made my week - even my month possibly
Keep safe and keep laughing.

My nose hasn't noticed any worming mishaps. Hopefully, all is sorted somewhere in his miniscule outdoor territory. Not the step though, that would be potentially very messy in the dark...Skint_but_Optimistic wrote: »Aww you sound much happier, and I hope the glum spiked colin is coming round too. The stiffness is to do with air pressure in the joints, once they're damaged or just plain old there is less air in the joints hence the ache on low days.Greying_Pilgrim wrote: »Dearest Piq - if I can make you giggle a couple of times in almost as many days, well, then that has made my week - even my month possibly

Late night last night and double shift today
It was swirly fog on the way home and I managed to convince myself I was being followed so had to drive all round the houses until I could see no headlights anywhere behind me. That included the distant glow of headlights too, if I could see them, they could see meAll the streets have their street lamps turned off at that time of night, which makes it creepier still and I have to drive across a large unlit common. Hopefully, as time goes on I'll worry less.
On a good note to finish my bank account is in the black and I have transferred £164.56 across to savings during the month simply by rounding down the bank account every dayTotal debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

It takes a loooong time to fully get over these things. I was burgled many years ago and I still am out of bed like a shot if I hear anything 'different' outside!
Incidentally it was my cat who sent the burglars scarpering!!! She was a very heavy footed cat and jumped off the windowsill. I think they must have thought it was a 20 stone man coming down (I was living on my own at the time). I was absolutely paralysed with fear in my bed!!!!0 -
Hi Piq:hello:
Hope you are ok and haven't floated away in the floods?
Take care,

Hi Piq frankly a half dose of bute is nothing. I am firmly of the opinion aged animals get any and all relief irrespective of long term effects possible effects and so on!
So sorry the drive home was stressful. Do you know where the nearest manned police station is of a night? If nothing else you can drive there. Or hospital etc? Helps you throw them off or get them to stop. Probably teaching you to suck eggs but do NOT let you petrol drop low so you can always drive a decent distance! Keep safeStart info Dec11
