Hmmm. I'm not convinced that taking a single point in 2007 and joining to another point in 2013 is really the best way to demonstrate a trend - what about the points inbetween? Don't they also influence the trend?
The trend in real terms since 2007 is clearly downwards but the longer term trend since 1975 has incorporated plenty of ups and downs.
Personally, I don't think there's that much capacity for a price boom. Not because of 'unresolved issues' but because I think/ hope that there will be a supply response. However, I see no problem with extrapolating the Nationwide graph and offering some reasons why this is valid - not many arguments against it so far.0 -
