I went to by some pens yesterday - all gone! Apparently people only buy pens the months before school starts and then from august on only want Halloween sweets/ costumes and christmas stuff.

    Bah humbug!!
People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

  • My local Co-op have got 2 tins of Roses, Quality Street etc. for £10. So it must be nearly christmas :D

We need these all year round. I know of friends that have birthdays March-Aug and have to fork out loads of money for some chocs to give to colleagues. Then its £4 for a small box of Roses. My birthday is end of Feb and I buy tin just before Christmas and resist temptation not to eat them for 8 weeks!

Obviously between Jan-Sept, just have 10-12 tins on a shelf.

I'll know Christmas is coming when Stollen's on sale at Lidl!

Christmas stuff in Lidl today BUT.....the 1kg basic stollen is no longer.:( They had two 500g ones hazelnut and some other flavour then a larger (750g?) luxury one with almonds and something and then they had the little stollen bites. I need to take DH with me so he can choose. I suspect we have candidates for the Great Shrinking Food Hunt though.;)

Abel & Cole has game in season and that starts with grouse in August. £12.50 minimum order, 99p delivery charge and it's fresh game not frozen. https://www.abelandcole.co.uk
