Asda are cheats

On Wednesday 28th August i placed my online order for delivery with Asda for Friday 30th August. Cost including delivery was £61.24p I recieved an email itemised bill for the same amount and paid by my card online.
When the goods arrived the paper bill stated £65.32 over £4 more?
When i checked my online banking they had indeed removed over £65 from my bank. I called to get the difference returned but was told prices had increased between my ordering and they delivering and it was in the terms and conditions. Well i have my own terms and from this weekend i will shop at a different supermarket.

Asda online are terrible. Tesco much better with good customer service.

(Ps - if you buy anything loose like bananas then obviously the price depends on the weight and can go up or down)

I think you'll find that any on-line grocery ordering service, will invoice on the items available to be picked, and the prices & promotions on the due (required) date.
Your £61.24 is just a guide price! That invoice total, will vary up or down, depending on items available of the shelf, the effect of any substitutions, prices ruling at that date - not the order date.

well i got an asda order recently, and they did charge me the quoted price, rather than what it cost at the time.

it was for some substitutions thou, that were more expensive than what i had chosen, but wasn't charged the extra.

i ordered some teacakes that cost about 70p and was replaced by the chocolate style ones that cost £2.00.

i wasn't all that impressed by Asda online thou, and i think ill just stick to Ocado

That's different to the OP's situation though. If you place an order for some teacakes at £1, if they went up to £1.50 on the day of delivery you will be charged the higher amount. If it was the other way around and they dropped in price, you would be charged the lower amount.

You will always be charged the price on the delivery day.

Misleading heading to this post...
All supermarkets make it clear that you pay the price at the time of picking and delivery. So if you want to take advantage of any offers ending soon you need to select a delivery slot to it with the offer times.

Sorry, but this is totally normal. Every supermarket I've shopped with online makes it very clear that when you checkout it's the APPROXIMATE cost and it may alter at the time of picking, say for example if you ordered 500g of lamb and paid £5, but the closest the butcher had cut is 521g and so they charge you for the extra 21g as it's never approximate, or if they are one of the supermarkets that charges for substitutions.
