The original article seems to base itself on the "what goes up must come down" analogy. Drivel.Pants0

If I felt like banging my head against a brickwall then I'd continue to try and get through to you on the related thread rather than hijacking this one. As interesting as it is to know your still bruised by being called on an error 2 years ago it really doesn't relate to the subject at hand.

It's a shame that, as usual, when Graham makes a forgiveable mistake, the same group as usual go for it like flies to turd. It's hardly surprising that he's dubious about claims he was mistaken when they are wrapped in insults and have no intention of forming debate. What are the odds that the other mathematical error on this thread will get the same response? Slim I'd wager.Having a signature removed for mentioning the removal of a previous signature. It's a faiir response when someone keeps banging the same broken drum, and is willing to invent new types of maths when the figures don't back up his prejudices, though.
When faced with this, mockery is probably a more potent weapon than trying to educate.
Some people, sadly, will just never "get" numbers, and Mr Devon may be in this camp.0 -

Well spotted.
But you only need to look to who posted it to know that it is drivel. So much so, that it's good fun trying to work out how minds can 'think' like that.
I recommend you look for further posts to confirm what I say. If you want to comment, please do, but you might need to sharpen up on your armoury of words to use for his assertions.
Drivel is a good one. But you might like to use babble, blather, gibberish, nonsense, tripe, balderdash, bunk, gobbledygook, hogwash, hooey, jabber, poppycock, prating, rot, rubbish, twaddle, double-talk, hocus-pocus, claptrap, or mumbo-jumbo.0 -

Perhaps people are tired of him muddling threads?
Some people think he does it deliberately just to ruin threads that don't agree with his VI (or where the argument is going aginst him or his VI). He earned the moniker 'Mr. Muddle' because of this.0 -

To me it seems like a concerted, and apparently ineffective, attempt to play the man. The premise that attempting to silence him by mockery will be effective is pretty laughable itself; all hostile adversity achieves is hardened positions. It reflects poorly on those who partake and detract from any reasoned debate that could otherwise have taken place.
There's plenty of mistakes made on this board by plenty of people
I've certainly made some monstrously bad ones
and they would all be better addressed by a polite response than puerile attempts to score points. Having a signature removed for mentioning the removal of a previous signature. Blackwhite bellyfeel double plus good...0 -

Cause and effect. Even the nicest posters (generali, et al) have had bitter arguments with Devon. Is it everyone else, or is he the common denominator? He gets treated just as he treats others. The only difference now is that his large 'gang' have left (and bought houses) and so he has less support in threads and his VI is becoming much more difficult to support, so his arguments become more ridiculous and consequently much easier to pull apart.
This doesn't stop him from flooding the board with the same hackneyed and discredited views over and over again, with the same results.0
