welll lenny is due home any day now :T so the last little push for all of us knowing him, he would have prob lost double what he planned to :rolleyes: but i think all us 'girls' have done a great job

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't had time to update anyone yet, it's all gone a bit wrong with the first post hasn't it. Bloody work getting in the way as usual. Well done Sammy for the job and a big well done to everyone who is still losing weight.

The wedding is all going as planned (so far) although I'm going to get the General Manager of Sopwell House on the case today because the account manager is bloody hopeless. If it weren't for the fact I work in the events industry I would have been pretty stressed about the whole thing. No communication at all. So, I've pretty much done it all myself, even down to driving up there to check the power in the function room, to make sure I have enough ring mains etc. The odd thing is though they still haven't taken any money out of my account, that should have been done on the day I signed the contract, but it's still sitting there. If it's still there Sunday I'll move it into savings and fight for a reduction because they've been pretty crap so far. Not going to rock the boat before the wedding though for obvious reasons. Honestly this is a pretty posh hotel, you'd think they'd get things a bit more organised.

The tour is going well, I've been off this past week or so, missing the Scotland bit, which suits me just fine. I'm thinking of putting my parts on the backing track and skipping the bulk of the tour. They are going 2 tours back to back, then Europe, then early next year USA. I just don't want to do it all. It's all good fun for the first year or two but I've been doing this for almost 17 years and I'm tired of it. I want to be at home with the kids nipping into the studio a few days a week. It does pay pretty well though, which is always nice isn't it.

Toto, well done for avoiding the stress of arranging a wedding. Mine was 14 years ago, but it was so stressful, I still wouldnt do it again. It's a good job we're still together so I dont have to do it again. What time do you get married?

I too have been a bit AWOL lately,been feeling very poorly and spending most of my time asleep or on the loo still doing WW,but I've a had a couple of bad weeks,nothing I've done,just a plateau

Well done on the losses everyone,nice to see you are all still working at it!

Hoping to feel better by tomorrow,as supposed to be meeting up with everyone in Blackpool,didn't realise it is a 650 mile round trip :eek: I am going for the day :eek: will try and sort something out,always organised me,never leave anything till the last minute :rotfl:

Hey spud, I can see how people do get stressed out with it all. I'm lucky in that I have loads of contacts who will get stuff done for me, even booking the hotel was done through a friend, otherwise it would have been the usual book a year or 2 in advance, not 4 weeks! They are doing me a favour, they are giving me their brand new restaurant for the meal and a function room for the evening. Mine is the first wedding they've done in a restaurant. But even so, I'm going to bring the general manager in to make sure it all runs smoothly, I don't want to have to manage the event on the day too.

The wedding itself is at 11 am, an early start. Then meal at 1pm, we have the restaurant till 5pm. Then we set up the function room for the bands. We have a live band in the restaurant, then another two in the function room. After the bands have played in the evening we will have a jam session, so many of our friends are musicians it makes more sense to let everyone play a bit than have a DJ. I'm going to try not to play but I doubt I'll get away with it. We've got about 130 people coming plus about 30 kids, but OH keeps inviting people which is getting to be a pain in the bum, but we do need to be careful not to upset anyone, funny old industry in that way.
