Weller you can't give up now! Look how far you have come...don't worry about little blips, hell I have them all the time! I understand how frustrating it can be...I started out this challenge at dead on 11 stone and want to loose another stone, first week or so done well, then ended up putting some on then lost a little of what I had put on then put more on! Finally lost it now but need to keep plodding on with the remaining 9 1/2 lbs. It is very difficult, I started off (before this challenge) at 14 stone and loose some and then gain a little and then have to loose that first before getting back to where I was...it can be soooo frustrating! But Toto is right, everyone needs to support once in a while (which you can find right here!) and together we can do it!

Gonna have some pasta for tea or if I can be bothered, make a quorn chilli to have woth some rice or may even have egg, spaghetti hoops and home made chips! Hope everyone is well! Keren, you could always 'practice' on a few friends, to see if you enjoy it and to see what peoples reactions are. I'm sure you don't need any certificates to pop round and cook for your mates.

As far as health and safety goes, I'm not sure where you would stand, as it's not YOUR kitchen, so you can't really ensure it's perfectly clean (other than wiping down surfaces etc before you start), but I would think you would need good public liability insurance in case you a) poison someone, or b) burn their house down (not suggesting you would ;)).

The bits I've done in the past have always gone down well, I did Rocky Road Squares once for an office party - they were yum (just thinking about them makes me put on 2 pound!!)

Hadn't thought about the insurance part!

this is the kind of thing I thought about doing but starting small

I could advertise myself as 'Masterchef' as I've been on the programme - I've seen other former contestants do it. Makes them sound really good!!!

It's just getting the motivation together. It's weird but I just don't seem to have the mental energy to do it and I feel 'scared' to try anything new these days.

I've got some capital behind me now (about 28k) but I'd be too scared to use some of it!!!

I'm away for a few days next week, I think it will give me some real 'me' time to try to unfurl my very tightly wound brain a bit!!!!

I was on the series before last. Unfortunately, for me, I feel that it has become more of a reality show rather than a show focused purely on food, but it gives me the 'ok' to use it on my publicity I guess!

Well keren, sounds to me like that's decided. Of course it's viable, you'd be fab at it... I'm pretty sure that if you're cooking in other people's kitchens you don't need inspections. You might need to do some H&S thing. You will need public liability insurance which can be sorted out dead easy... says she who had a nightmare, but then we do deal with very heavy electrical equipment, drunk people and idiots.

I'm going to research what you'll need. But for now, you need to think of a company name, write some sample menus and get maybe get some copy for a website... nice and simple. You can be a sole trader which is a lot easier than being Ltd. Blimey, we could have you up and running by the weekend at this rate:T

My ex has an outside catering company and does exactly what we're thinking you should be doing. And yes, many times I ended up waitressing on these things (oh joy). Now, obviously he has restaurants and some of the food was prepared there, lots of it though was cooked on site (not by me). He doesn't even have a refridgerated van for transporting food, so honestly you can't need that much in the way of H&S. He takes his own pots and pans etc, but either uses their cutlery/ plates or hires it in.

He also does or did (not sure if he still does them) courses from his house. Now I know that there is no special equipment there, no aliminium worktops, it's all oak. I think it'd be easy to set up, if I could find people who want outside beans on toast (slightly charred toast) I'd do it myself.

On a different note, I am sad to inform you all that I am "resigning" from this challenge, i just can't do it and am finding it so hard,

If you feel under pressure, then you shouldn't. There is no pressure here, just a will to see stuff going in the right direction.

feel like I'm just going to be fat and sad forever, I don't have the willpower or anything to carry it through.

Of course you do. Just let it happen. Don't think about the future - forever is too far away for anyone to predict.

I just dont have it in me to lose the weight, I feel useless and good for nothing.

Now now - we won't have talk like that. The country would be a lot better if everyone was as good at what they did as you are.

For every step I make forward I make ten steps back and I just can't do it anymore

For every 10 steps forward you take one back. So what? Focus on the 9 forward. You've lost approx twice as much as I have for example.
