I like the cooking parts (I would like them more if he didn't lick his fingers and touch the food) but I dont think the food costings add much to it, particularly as the prices will be out of date soon.0 -
He used 40g of feta. A 200g block in Tesco of own brand feta is £1.60.0

Well, I quite enjoy watching his programes. I realise his costings are way ott for some people here but he doesn't claim to make the cheapest pizza money can buy. Tasty and cheaper than take away I read it as. If you are making a fish pie for eight then all well and good. If not make one for you size family. I made one at the w/e for 5 with no left overs as I dont like reheated fish. I will continue to watch it for inspiration on what to do with left overs. Like I watch other cookery programmes. It's called entertainment.0

Well, even if he used the whole block, it would only add 26p per portion using Tescos price.0

Why?
If I get the chance to buy an untrimmed cauli, I always ask the greengrocer to let me have it with the leaves on. I remove the outermost leaves if they are knackered but otherwise eat the lot.
This gives me two veggies for the price of one.
And if I have to get a trimmed one, I choose one with greens if possible.
Even if all I do is add the cauli greens to the cheese sauce.
I always ask my Greengrocer for the trimmings for my rabbit (who is sadly no longer with us) but he always lets me have them for nothingJust like my butcher who lets me have beef bones for the dog
and no I don't have a dog either. I have been a customer to both of them for over 25 years though so they are used to my cheek :rotfl:
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
