Best first mobile for 11 year old son?
Options
As the title says really... We had set a budget of £100 for a sim free handset so that we can get an ovivo sim for it. Hubby and I both have samsung handsets (s2 and s4) so we were looking for another android. It must have a touch screen. He is most likely to be googling and playing games at first with I imagine some texting later.
I have found the Samsung Galaxy Ace but it seems a little dated. The Galaxy Fame doesn't seem to get good reviews. The Galaxy Ace 2 is more pricey. Or should I stump up the cash and get a Nexus 4? Would 8gb be enough?
Thanks for any help. I'm going round in circles looking! :rotfl:

2nd vote for one of these. Got one for DS (13 y.o.) as his Christmas pressie (got ours free on a Tesco capped contract £7.50 per month, so cheap as chips in my estimation)
Only problem is that it has difficulty moving some apps to the SD card, so my DS sometimes has to uninstall a game to make room for a new one. But it's easy enough to uninstall/reinstall as games go in and out of favour - kids tend to get tired of a game after a few weeks anyway.
It's fine putting music/photos/video to SD card tho, so no probs there.
Phone reception as good as my Samsung S2, & seems good at receiving WiFi signals too - we have a couple of spots around the house where the signal strength is dodgy, but Ds's phone copes.
We put a bumper case & screen protector on it before we gave it him, and it's survived being dropped & so forth this far (touching wood).
so a vote for this one.I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.0
