I shall check your diary out, thank you. Hope you don't mind me just "joining in".
Dont be daft,of course not. The more the merrier. I have been AWOL recently, so its been a little quiet but I am determined to get back into it. Certainly helps me get through the Winter months that's for sure.
Great News re the Council Tax. I could wallpaper my downstairs toilet with the late payment reminders I have been sent !! :rotfl:LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Overall it sounds a really positive week, and thats brill that the 2nd company are looking at F+F.
Well done with the eBay as well.
I'd love to take the credit for the recipie, but it was from my booklet that came with slow cooker.
There is nothing that beats chip shop chips, (dont do the fish...but the chips.... lush). We all deserve a treat, treated DD to Pizza - only because it was on special offer (£9.99) and we shared it, xx
Money wise, I'm doing rather well. Today we did a big food shop (going to try only getting a few bits during the week). Mrs. K. and I took £50.00 out with us, left other cash and cards at home. We managed it, just! For the first time we actually looked at what things actually cost, never done this before.
The small amount of change we came home with is in the coin tray of the LR and will stay there for any parking fees.
You still posted up the recipes, mum2one!
No takeaways tonight, Mrs. K. and I did homemade "KFC": spicy chicken in homemade spicy crumb, jacket potato (inner mashed with cream cheese, little bits of bacon and mushroom, then put back in skin) and corn on the cob with a garnish of coleslaw. Nothing but the raw ingredients were shop bought. Served with proper tableware(!) and a crisp glass of white wine.PinotGrigio41 wrote: »Dont be daft,of course not. The more the merrier. :rotfl: I'm not usually anywhere near as "good" with paying my bills. It felt good to get it out of the way in all honesty. Hopefully, this is the start of something positive.

Saturday 23rd November, 2013.
Day 84.
Dear Diary,
Generally today has been a good day. However, I am not looking forward to lunch with my parents tomorrow before they set off for five days away. The biggest success of the day has be our fantastic dinner this evening, Mrs. K. and I seem to be rather getting into this home cooking and leaving the jars of sauce on the shelves where many would say they belong. Next thing you know I'll have a recipe book published, entitled: Cooking with Alexander L. K. Now, It's Decadent Dad's Turn.(With apologies to Skint Dad.)
Tomorrow's menu consists of a "healthy" salad, smoked salmon on toasted Ciabatta with cream cheese, topped with austerity "caviar" .... I shall report my findings on that one shortly. Seen as all this talk of food is making me feel rather hungry, I shall move on to ... the only thing I have to report debts wise; that is, the £300 deal came through and as I've already paid December's council tax off, that's a £167 bill off next month's budget already. Maybe I will be able to buy myself an extra Christmas treat?
Summary:
-£46.50 Groceries.
Yours Faithfully,

. Same with sushi. Tastes like raw fish to me. I thought we invented fire so we didn't have to eat raw flesh?
So come on, what was dinner :rotfl:?A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

We have sushi too sometimes.
There's a great Japanese restaurant in Chesterfield.
Something less decadent, taken from further up the page: "No takeaways tonight, Mrs. K. and I did homemade "KFC": spicy chicken in homemade spicy crumb, jacket potato (inner mashed with cream cheese, little bits of bacon and mushroom, then put back in skin) and corn on the cob with a garnish of coleslaw. My niece has won an award at her school for a mini-recital (3 pieces) she performed in front of her whole school. My brother-in-law reported she was the consummate professional, too.
)!
Glad BiL has changed his tune - might it also be a result of you changing yours: you're less "la-dedah" than before having been knocked into shape on MSE & you place more value on what you CAN do & are good at rather than being all Eeyore about yourself... I think you're letting your inner Tigger out!:rotfl:
All together now: "OOoh the wonderful thing about Tiggers is Tiggers are wonderful things!":TOh & a STONKING result on the debt-busting, LOVE the new sig! :TNo, didn't think I could do it at all. However, in my case getting debt free will likely not be the biggest challenge; that will be STAYING debt free.0 -
Granaries: I presume you are a teacher of some sort?
:rotfl: You make me laugh! I suppose I have "changed me tune" somewhat. Recently, I've been trying to get along with them (all of Mrs. K.'s family) rather than looking down on them. After all, my wife IS one of "them".They didn't think me any good for my wife, especially during the very difficult times and I can see why; for a time I was dragging her down.
Finally, I can't see me or Mrs. K. being responsible and sensible for ever but if we can live within our means whilst having fun and making a bit of cash out of things we want to own (cars etc.), then I've got a feeling life will be good.
Now wish us luck, we're off to my parents' for lunch. :eek:2018 totals:

Thank you, Mara.
Mrs. K. found a funny sticker this afternoon, she's thinking of buying and sticking on my mother's car, to see how long it is until she notices ...
Tried to upload an image but it didn't work, basically it replaces the "DEFENDER" lettering with "OFFENDER". Childish, yes.2018 totals:
