Outdoor Ceremony in Winter - Am I Mad?

That is a great idea, but we've kinda already got our heart set on one venue in particular. It's a place called Wentbridge House Country House Hotel and they've just had the most gorgeous outdoor folly built in the grounds for wedding ceremonies.
We'd were staying there when they had their first outdoor ceremony and it was the most magical setting I've ever seen - fell instantly in love!
Can't post links as I'm new but if you search for their site there's a photo on there. x
Does look nice...0 -

Looks lovely and they do have a contingency plan so I would go for it, you will always wonder if you don't. Snow machine hire here for Yorkshire, it would be magical.

I get paranoid around candles so a bonfire is out for me. Nice idea though xGetting married in Dec 2014 - Tiny Budget, [STRIKE]Big[/STRIKE] No Ideas0 -

Not if guests are told that they need to dress appropriately, lots of people stand outside in winter at events without an issue.
Patio heaters and blankets and a few wind breaks may be needed but really it should be simple for the hotel to organise. After all, they are the ones marketing the outdoor venue venue so they should be geared up to cope with the challenges that brings.0 -

Not much on today:D so...... I have been sitting her imagining a dusk ceremony, snow gently falling (think of the proposal scene in Downton Abbey)

Trees strung with fairy lights, guests in white chairs with plaid blankets in the colours of your bridesmaids (hired if necessary) sipping mulled wine, patio heaters stationed at all corners and natural looking windbreaks strategically placed. Red carpet lined with flickering faux candles, and the strains of a string Quartet on the night air.
If it really looks rainy, an open awning under which the guests sit should be fine, and you could rent some wedding brollies just in case.

OMG! What are you doing to me? I'm going to burst!!
This IS my dream wedding. I'm going to take some serious talking out of it now!
Loving the idea of the string Quartet, so romantic. AND you even covered my candle phobia with faux candles!
You should be a wedding planner for sure! :TGetting married in Dec 2014 - Tiny Budget, [STRIKE]Big[/STRIKE] No Ideas0
