Well done on the freezer front Watty ... it's a good feeling cooking it up and putting it back in there as home-made 'ready' meals!

Love squash soup, gutted that my homegrown squashes have failed this year and last, will splash out a tad on proper seeds for next year.

All sounds good on pony / saddle / jumping front, you're doing amazing things together now, it's great that your confidence has grown together. I got that Thelwell image again though, when you said that he's !!!!ed off :rotfl:

    Happy weekend! x

Thelwell image most appropriate Habibiboo :)

Floppy - two saddles - one dressage and one jumping I presume? You are getting most professional. You need a horsebox now to get out and about - forget MSE and the farmhouse - maybe a bedsit above a stable instead?

No horsey stuff here this w/end. Trying to calm myself after baby whizzed off again for no reason other than he could. Have rung instructor and asked her to come out this weekend and help - and - will try and lunge him this evening after work.

Yesterday took dog out to his dog class and then dog, Mr Watty and I went to see the poppies at the Tower (very moving sight) and had dinner at St Katherine's dog. So many comments of "he is gorgeous", "so handsome" "lovely chap" from people - referring to dog not Mr Watty :) It seems it is rare for a huge German Shepherd to be seen pottering around the Tower. He posed for photographs with tourists :rotfl:
And didn't neglect operation freezer. 3 swedes bought last week in a reduced section in the supermarket cooked, mashed and frozen as they were showing signs of age. Am now running out of things to cook up as ready meals and also space in freezer :)
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

    Hello!

I'm also in the middle of a freezer operation.

I'm basically clearing it out, so I can start building it up again on a low salt basis.

Some of the things are still ok for me to eat, but there's other things with involve bacon and sausages that I won't be eating. So Mr Goldie will have to have those, and I'll buy myself some tuna instead. He reckons he's had tuna twice in his life and was sick both times. Therefore we never have tuna, so it'll be a nice change for me.

Once the freezer is clear, I'll find it easier with a clean slate to work from.
You have such a great attitude to your health Goldie. It really shines through on your thread - and - you are being so positive here. Enjoy the tuna!

Recommendations are so key. Was a little fed up that my new saddler suggested baby's saddle was not an idea fit. Am still mulling over what to do and have finally decided that when the new saddle arrives I will try riding him in that only for 6 to 8 weeks and see if there is any difference in the areas she highlighted and take it from there. I could ask his chiropractor, and I could ask instructor, but, I feel it is just 'opinions' and I am utterly confused.
(Am looking on desk for details of Master Saddlers intro course and thinking about that again - was saving it for when mortgage was gone - but - ???)

  • I'm surprised you have to order it to be honest, I've only every known of saddlers coming to you with lots to try and tweaking as necessary. That's how I bought mine (yep dressage and event - like a jump but a bit deeper so I can hold on for dear life!)

Thanks for the name Alchem will keep him in mind, although the one I had was very thorough so happy to pay a bit more to get it right up front.

Yes that is what I used to know - before - buying a half native pony with an extremely short back and who is very very broad and flat, bless him! I've found a company that only fits natives but they don't carry jumping in stock. If I had wanted a GP then I could have had it there and then - and it was very tempting as I jumped in it - but - my heart was set on something that would offer a bit of support when jumping as I've only just decided to do this mad thing of jumping :)

Oooh who did you use in Hampshire? I used TDS in Hampshire.
I'm well jel that you have 2 saddles (I got just a GP I'm not good enough to need anything technical lol!)
I think you should get a lorry - wouldn't it be funny if we all ended up at the same show one day!!

  • Turns out saddler came from Berkshire instead, I'm really rubbish with all this stuff! The dressage saddle was definitely an unnecessary indulgence but at least forces me to do some competitions now! Lorry is one step too far at least this year... you'll just have to pick everyone up, well volunteered!

Too funny to think of us all at same show!! We'll have to aim at something - something with pony club classes too so Alchemilla can bring ponyplops :)
