This Time I'm Really Going To Do It

Very tempting Alchemilla. Under serious consideration.
Have had lovely weekend. Helped friend take her lusitano to a nice friendly horse show. Had to laugh, it was the first time she had ever shown in hand and she said as much to the judge and asked for feedback as she was pulled in last. The judge said horse was lovely but had been marked down as he was not a pony. Err, yes, replies friend, but this is a Foreign Breeds class. The judge looked at her for a moment and said no, its a hunter pony class. So the person who came first piped up - have I won the hunter pony? Mine is a Fijord and is entered in the Foreign Breeds class too. Hilarious chaos then ensured and friend was hastily given a first rosette!! She then went in the in hand championship where she wasn't placed but had fun.
Then Sunday took handsome baby out for a hack with lovely neighbour. We were out for 2.5 hours. It was gorgeous, leafy green country lanes, farm track, tiny bridge over a waterfall, lambs, ducks, geese. Fab hack. And baby beautifully behaved.
And a lovely lesson before work this morning. Great horsey fun.
No MSE news reallybut nice weekend.
Decluttered a sheet (76/365) that no longer fitted and am getting a sense of achievement using up bathroom 'stuff'. Currently using up a make up remover/cleanser that retails at around £67 and is useless :rotfl: glad I didn't actually buy it!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Good idea about the saddle fitting course. My friend had the exact same issue. Took 12 weeks in the end - crazy!Mortgage starting balance 2011 ... £170k today £1.5k
Savings: £3k
Aim: 100k by Dec 20210 -
Was checking banking online and noticed last overpayment had been made to the part of the mortgage with a 1% overpayment penalty and a higher interest which sort of cancels out the penalty. And it means there was a tiny part of Part 2 of Mortgage left outstanding with no penalties for repaying. I rang to talk about clearing that and was told I had to request a redemption figure - so - balance outstanding £1430.01. Redemption figure £1303.92.
Not sure why it was £126.09 less - but - have used savings to make another overpayment and clear that bit. I know I said that I wouldn't be overpaying for a while but its kinda addictiveMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

I'm saving that thought for when the main mortgage falls below a certain level. When the end is really in sight - then yes - I think a 0% would be the way to goMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Decluttered a laptop bag no longer in use. To be honest it hasn't been used in the last 5 years and when it fell of the office shelf I knew it was time for it to go (78).
Am surprised how easy it is becoming to think economically. I realised I had no nice T-shirts for the summer just 6 polo shirts that were bought last year for hols. Last year I bought the cheapest ones I could find which were M&S school kids ones reduced with the intention of wearing them and throwing as they were £1.27 each and I was thinking after riding and horse stuff they would be smelly and slobbered on and I wouldn't want to bring back a bag of washing. But they were just too good to throw so I did bring them home from riding hols in Portugal after all.
In wardrobe declutter I got rid of old T-shirts leaving just 1 T shirt and these 6 school white polo shirts. So, I bought a box of dye (£6) and now 3 of the polo shirts are lovely shades of pink. The pink was quite harsh when dyed, so, I dipped them in a bucket of bleach for varying times and now have 3 lovely pink polo shirts. Changed buttons for multi coloured ones found in house and now they look quite stylish! (And v upmarket with buttons!) Am very pleasedMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Sounds like you're going great guns with the decluttering Watty ... plus the recycling boring clothes into pretty ones! It's amazing the difference some snazzy buttons can make, although I must admit I've never been brave enough to try dying anything! Will have to give it a go sometime.Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!
