I'm still waiting for agent million. I did win £700 which would be 16% if it happened every month - I wish. I am seriously considering selling the ones that are £25 wins because none of those have ever won yet & it would mean that new wins would go into PBs instead of my bank account & more to the point the withdrawals could pay for the leak from the bathroom into my dining room which started the night before I went into hospital for my hip. These things really do have a marvellous sense of timing. People ask me why I am stressed!

Oh no @badmemory what terrible timing ! Hope it’s gets fixed without too much cost - my parents discovered their shower had a long very slow leak which resulted in the garage roof partially collapsing !DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

What awful timing @badmemory Hope it is not too serious.
I had to google Agent Million. Ohhh...so they send someone. Good to know!
Lovely morning, took Charming Cob for a lovely ride then sat in the sun eating toast and jam whilst house was cleaned, came in to find I was to give a presentation on Zoom! Cue spending 5 mins looking less "hat hair" and "messy" and more professional ..and realising I had no slides or anything for the presentation. Winged it and had fun but so behind at work that maybe that was not the best start to the week work wise but, happiness wise was indeed.
Took end of year papers to accountant so that took another couple of hours out of the working day - but - pleased that is done. It is one step nearer to getting financially organised which needs to be my goal now. I have drifted a lot as things were taking so long to settle, but it is now time to get back "in shape" as it were!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

I suspect that it will be much easier to get everything back to ‘in shape’ now that you have certainty about what *your* future plans are and you have the head space now.KKAs at 15.07.25:

- OPs to mortgage = £11,816 Interest saved £5,28 to date

I couldn't believe it the plumber came here around 2 had to go for a part & had finished by 3.15. It was the toilet not the shower (clean water thankfully) & they said very badly fitted & I know why. They had already put the plumbing in & when they came to fit the radiator then they couldn't close the door, so had to move the rad nearer the toilet, so they moved the toilet to the right but left the plumbing where it was. So the toilet has gradually worked its way back to where it should have been, so basically watch you don't burn your knee. Without taking all the floor up & taking all the cupboards down there wasn't much else they could do. So I know who will NOT be doing my kitchen. The really amazing thing was they only charged £70. And the funny thing was the older one I recognised & when he walked in the living room he said oh the jigsaw lady. That must be from around 10 years ago. Once seen never forgotten.7

At least it is done, not ideal but you know why it leaked so can watch for it in future.
My shower seems to be leaking but I really need to re-do the room so I'm keeping a watch on it and shoving a towel in the corner when I shower as I think it is only the door.

Drama day: At breakfast I thought Feral Cat was so cute, as she was batting a cobweb by the woodburner. An hour or so later she was gazing into the woodburner. At some point in the morning I thought i should check she was ok as she was really focused on the woodburner, she had barely moved.
I investigated and found a sparrow had fallen in there. I now need to admit I am actually frightened of small birds flapping about inside (blame a great aunt, long story for another time ) so I stared at the sparrow and feral cat stared at the sparrow and the sparrow stared back.
I decided not to think about it and went back to work for about 5 mins then decided to be more grown up. I rang a lady down the road that does parrot boarding. I thought she might know what to do, and bless her, hearing my trauma she came round, opened up the stove, picked it up and stood there cradling it and chatting. I'm not sure if she was talking to me or the sparrow as I had sort of zoned out in case she let the sparrow go!
She happily left, taking sparrow with her saying she would give sparrow some electrolytes and a dark place to sit and calm down for an hour or so before setting it free. (She does a lot of bird rescue)
Thank goodness for fabulous neighbours.
