Sounds good, Watty. Have a think about the hanky fund - the vague communication is a good idea, and I'm glad Mr Watty realised about saving for saving's sake - but you don't know how things are going to develop, that he might say "okay, we have £4k, we can spend half of that/ use that as a deposit for Something Big" and then you might have another big struggle on your hands. I'd honestly downplay from now on, while he's so ill :( sorry.

Thank you. This is probably very sensible. I'm going to change my signature, on the off chance he were to find this on my computer. He will not read through the diary so I'm ok with the comments and posts but the signature amount could stand out. Being ultra cautious here, will change the signature.

He forgets lots of things that are said at the moment so with luck he will have forgotten about the savings part.

  • I'm so sorry Watty, but it looks like you're planning as well as you can. At least now there is a diagnosis it might help Mr Watty get the right medical support he needs?

It is good to still build up your fund. If things go well, then you will have a nice amount to play with. And if things don't , then you have a cushion. Keep on plodding, m'dear.

It all sounds so difficult Watty, but I loved the clarity that KC's comment gave. I'm glad it helped you, because it certainly helped me to understand your situation.

Bless you stepuptothep18. Its been a few days since I checked in. The good stuff, went to a wonderful service for candlemass. Was at a church I'd never been to before and it was delightful, lit entirely with candles and decorated with snowdrops and evensong sung. Perfect. So calming.
Also found yesterday a country park that I'd never been to before. Was looking for a good spot to go for a walk with snowdrops and wow, this was definitely one. Plus had a vegetarian caf! on site where we had nut roast with lots of veggies and drinks for under £15. Then home for a ride round the lanes on Most Handsome followed by physio for MH. He still isn't quite right but hopefully getting there.
Then a couple of items had offers on bay of E so accepted one and have countered offered on another.
Home situation still blech but am trying to look on the bright side. I must admit I don't always succeed and came very close to putting spyware on Mr Watty's phone but stepped back from the brink in time. I thought that at least it would enable me to find out where he is next time he goes missing.
Off to make tea and catch up with people....
