I agree. I get the sense that he wouldn't have done that if you hadn't been talking to him, Watty.

And potential good news on the work issue. Hope you get the least-worst scenario there.

Both seconded by me, progress made on two fronts due to your hard work.

    Hope you enjoy the party.

Didn't do the party for good reasons and that was just fine. Inspired by KC I spent half an hour yesterday in the garden and half an hour today. I was going to pay someone to do the clearing but if I don't then the money can remain in the spotted hanky fund so my plan is to do half an hour each weekend day and 10 mins each working day.
Also done some decluttering and a total of 36 items have left. Another 12 have been listed on bay of e. There are 3 bags to go to the charity shop of good stuff but that I just don't think is worth me selling. Would have been a couple more items but kitten pinched them for her toy stash and as the dog is not around she has spent some happy play time in the living room.

I have a pile of CDs that are old lectures that I am going to try listening to while I work. If I don't enjoy that, then, they will be binned or sold and I have a pile of books that are on the review stash and are either keep or leave the house and beside the TV are some DVDs to watch and decide their fate.
The office is coming along nicely in the declutter stakes. There is still more to do, but I am thinking that if I now had to move to another office I could do so without taking unwanted stuff with me. One drawer of filing is only research papers so could be thrown, but I have some plans for them, another couple of drawers are full of Mr Watty's stuff and I'm not touching that. Also leaving a shelf of his books untouched. Its not at the essential and much wanted stage yet but it is decluttered to a live and still find things and to a could be packed up if I had to and I would know what to take and what to leave.
Have been feeling very down today so have just nipped to the local store for some chocolate which should cheer me up nicely :)

I'm sure we can all understand not doing something when you're feeling so down. Chocolate is a good first aid thing for those days (which reminds me to fetch some from my own cupboard, as I don't feel wonderful myself right now)...

I'm glad you could apply my garden efforts to your own situation :):):) It can be a *lot* of money. And we all need to exercise our bodies, so if you do your own, its a win win.

The decluttering is win win too, whether you stay or go, though I'm sorry your life is so uncertain right now. Knowing what you've got and what you want to take, even though its not finished, is great.

The kitten will help, and the other animals too.

Whilst mucking out I began to worry about the fact I have not heard from Mr Watty. I saw he was on whatsapp Friday late but I haven't heard from him. I rang twice yesterday and once this morning and no answer. I began to worry he had had an accident and so rung a former policeman we know to find out what the procedure is.
He put my mind and rest and then, in a very male way, suggested a text to send that he swore a man would respond to. It was a very gentle text just saying was a bit worried but he managed to get that in to the text twice despite it being so short. Within an hour Mr Watty had phoned to say he was fine. So at least I don't have to worry about him being in hospital somewhere.
I was glad I had called former Mr Policeman, although less glad when he began to talk about male attitudes and behaviours....... spent an hour in tears after that.

On work related stuff, I looked at some emails from an organisation I do work for and couldn't make any sense of them. I just felt totally overwhelmed. So I rang the chair and explained what is going on and that I just don't feel I can cope. She was very supportive and we agreed I would take a sabbatical. She was most keen I did not resign as she said that if would not be helpful if the worst happens that I lose to much from my life. That was good because I didn't really want to give it up, I just didn't feel as if I was managing the work so a sabbatical seemed a good solution. I have let them know formally that I will be taking a break for now and that everything that should come to me should now go to the chair of the organisation. It will give me some breathing space at least.

  • So much going on just now, its the answer to get the breathing space you need :)

Hope all goes well and that you take time out for yourself. You have been going at it (organising, decluttering, managing etc, etc) hammer and tongs - as they say. You deserve the break.

Good you had the friend to call on, even though he helped/helped not :)

Phoning Mr Policeman was a real result, then ... and I'm glad Mr Watty's okay, it's not good to think of him injured somewhere ... My word, though, your organisation has come up trumps, thats quite something. I'm glad they're being helpful.
