I need to look up that thread. Slowly still decluttering. Dropped off an unworn jacket and 3 ties to charity shop. Defrosting the freezer in the kitchen today and have a lot of work come in so quite busy day planned.

  • One day, one day I will also get going on that thread - I confess to reading parts for encouragement and am actually clearing clutter in my mind as I read . . . not the way its supposed to work, I think . . .

I think that it all goes hand in hand - mental clutter, physical clutter, digital clutter ..... I find as I remove some in one area I am more able to deal with clutter in another - a sort of positive knock-on effect, I guess. (However, the hard part is getting started! ;))

The spotted hanky fund has taken a substantial hit. Mr Watty decided the stable roof needed repair. Rightly so. It was patched last year but a substantial amount of the roof was still rotten so another 30 sheets of material purchased and 3 days labour has resulted in the stable roof being repaired. And as the man who came to do the work was employed for 3 days he had some time left over so the hedge has been trimmed and part of the field fencing was found to be rotten so that too has been repaired. Needed replacing really but the repair will do. Expensive but work needed doing. On the postive side I had the cash for the work and having mentioned we had some savings to Mr Watty there was no red face stuttering as I explained we had the cash! Although for most of the time he is in lala land so he might not have noticed anyway.

Loving the horse syndicate - at least it's cheaper than a whole race horse!

In April/May, when we begin to get our new furniture I'll be deciding what ornaments I want to keep and which ones to move on. I'm quite looking forward to it, as I've missed the positive mental attitude that I gained from my decluttering drive from a few years ago. I'll be applying the 'does it give me joy' approach to help me decide.

Although you weren't saving for the stable roof, at least it was money spent on a good thing.

Most Handsome has had a fab weekend. His "will I / wont I?" approach to getting on a horsebox is done with. I got a horse whisper chappie in and after a good few hours Most Handsome now loads himself if one points at the lorry ramp. Huge joy and £100 well spent :) So happy

  • My horses happiness to load tied into him feeling most sound. It can be tricky for them to balance during transit if they are feeling a bit lame or sore in their back/hips. Yours is a big younger so likely he is just still unsure of it all but do keep an eye out for other signs if his feelings on loading change suddenly!

I initially read that as 'horse whipper chappie' and thought you were going for the very very very tough love approach!
