Lovely to see you back Watty - we've missed you. Glad absence did not mean uncontrolled spending - and fab news on OP restrictions being lifted on BTL
Are you saving up and then clearing it in one lump? - that's my current plan with ours
x
I've enough saved to pay off the allowed 10% next month which is the start of the new terms. Then I will probably make overpayments monthly as I like watching the balance fall.
My plan is to clear it by next year then we will own both houses outright, be truly MF and the bills will be covered by the incoming rent. Well on the way to FIRE!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
Thank you all for the lovely welcome back
Just picked a lot of apples from the trees on the back drive so will make some apple sauce shortly to freeze for winter roast pork (yumm).
Chilli oil now made up in and doing whatever it does to stew!
Spag bog from freezer for dinner.
All feels most economical. Work really quiet.
And horsey news - have booked a day confidence course at a stunt riding place. So looking forward to this. Not cheap but sounds awesome. Going to learn how to sit rears buck spooks, learn to fall off without hurting self and generally spend a whole day learning what I can do. Go me!!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Back from Madrid.
Lovely time staying with friend, lunch at the Real Madrid stadium, horses, paella, flamenco...fabulous.
Oh I just happened to buy a pair of made to measure riding boots - as one does - they will come over with friend in December when she visits. Budget blown :rotfl: But boots are beautifulMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

oh dear. Spent most of morning so far on phone to Spanish friend who has decided to dump the boyfriend ......
Yesterday had lesson on dressage horse simulator - think large plastic horse that moves like a real one - and had riding position thoroughly analysed by instructor there. Muscles exhausted and about to have lesson on most handsome, still will be a relief from Spanish romantic issuesMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Spanish friend still sending whatapp messages. If only she would talk to the man
Great lesson on Most Handsome practising dressage test for a competition I may or may not enter.
Mr Watty trying to fix the outside lights. The plan was to take Most Handsome out to his group lesson this evening but the garden lights are being most troublesome so I may suggest he spend this evening working on them instead. Obviously it is a toss up for him between working on fixing something or driving me to a lesson - not much of an evening for him :rotfl:Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Creeps back in, dusts self off and says hello to anyone that remembers me. Special thanks to Smallholding, Baldbybear, Firegirl and Karmacat for saying hi whilst I was off in lala land.
I think life just unravelled. it had become one long end of aches, pains and feeling ill and I just got fed up of posting. And of doing anything and everything.lalaland is probably the best place to be when its like that ...
Most Handsome and I had a go at cross country a few weeks back, not our finest hour I had a major panic attack and burst into tears and came home. So Most Handsome and I are now working on some of the things that we can face together and I have plans to tackle my problems, so more of the horse news in days and weeks to come for those readers who enjoy such horsey news and apologies to the rest. And financial news - well this is an MSE diary after all. My trip to LaLa land has not meant I have spent wildly. In fact finances seem to be ok - and - drumroll - the building society have written to say that the overpayment restrictions on all their mortgages are being lifted and from October we can overpay 10%. So that's to come too. If I can clear the BTL mortgage then the rent will cover our monthly living costs so still planning on that as my focus as a step to financial freedom.Save2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
