No ironing water here. Not sure Mr Watty really would believe such stuff exists.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

We are all only as lovely as the company we keep on here
Please keep posting Watty, I have loved every bit of your diary and when I am having a low motivation day it really spurs me on xxMFW

I think I need to learn to do things other than work. A big part of my reflection this season has been that I've used work as a way of avoiding doing 'life'.
Sobering.
Currently in office but this is an early start on the 2016 big decutter. A three drawer filing cabinet has been emptied. Mr Watty has a pile of stuff to go through. Only one drawer now has stuff in. Go me !!!
Ooh this post really did resonate with me. I've done this for years due to a dodgy first marriage.
I also think we get to an age where we want to live our lives free of aggravation (that covers multiple things, stress, poor friendships etc etc).
Opening up like that is hard but it can only help.
I found the Kon Marie stuff I did really made me look at things differently. I know that may sound odd as it is just sorting stuff but you have to touch things which bring back memories. I felt that a load of carp left our home through that journey and with it the bad feelings.

So this conversation has sparked some ideas. (Glad it has helped you to Goldie). Thank you all.
Going to continue with declutter as I think Tilly has a point about the emotions leaving with the clutter.
Have downloaded KC's book suggestion and will be following KC's suggestions over the next few months.
And life coaching ...have spent a lot of time reading about that and yes I think that might really be a plan too.
So somehow you lot have helped me come up with my 2016 plans
Because this is MSE I should have some financial ones too and there is one sort of rattling around in my mind. Need to formulate that a bit more but like the above getting thereMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Have you thought about a life coach? The deal with the catalysts that were there in the first place. My dad is heavily invloved in this area so I have learned bits over the years and am amazed at how they work, he has even had counsellors refer people to him and also referred themselves! I am not sure how much sessions cost but many of them work over $kype so you can be in your own environment. It is very brave to put everything above into your post, I love that this board is so supportive x
Have been thinking and reading around google on life coaching today and I think this has potential. So I have a question for you (and anyone like KC who might be able to help) how do I find a life coach? I'm going to ask my contacts on linked in for recommendations as well but I was wondering you (your dad?) had any suggestions on how to find one??Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Hmm. The stuff I've got on file is all about the issues of counsellors retraining as coaches, so not much use to you.
If you want coaching, a good place to start would be http://bacpcoaching.co.uk/ thats the coaching division of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. Some of it is for coaches (who have to log in) but plenty is for potential clients.
This website is also run by BACP (they're my professional organisation) http://www.itsgoodtotalk.org.uk/ The blue links are useful for finding out more about the process, though of course its mostly about counselling and psychotherapy ... the questions to ask of a potential coach are the same, however: training, experience, orientation, cancellations policy, aims, working on the phone or skype as well, that sort of thing. I personally wouldn't go to anyone who charged for just a chat, and some still do - a minority now, I think.
When googling about coaching, I'd be careful of the number of training organisations, national schools, etc - its a new field, and there's a lot of organisations *trying* to be national which really aren't, they're a group of people making a go of it. All well-intentioned, I'm sure, but if something goes wrong, you may not have the backup you'd like.
I don't know much about the field though - as I said, I'm at the other end of the spectrum of work, doing deep cathartic work, I don't have any professional crossover!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Thanks for the input KC. You really are a star
Apple Muncher, the link didn't seem to show up in the PM. Have sent you a PM back.
I am so cheerful, a plan is coming together
Downloaded both books recommended.
And then, following KC's fab advice, 2 hour hack with Most Handsome and 2 neighbours, lovely gossip time and nice to get Most Handsome out with 2 other horses - even if one is one he wants to race all the time. As he wants to race something 2 hands + (8 inches for the non horsey readers) bigger than him with longer legs it is rather tiring :rotfl:
Must think about ways to get him more used to other horses in the New Year.
Also lovely walk with the dog, and then out with Mr Watty to his dads cottage to check all ok there and collect mail.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
