  • You're wasting your money and time with all that fast track nonsense.

You or your friend won't be getting 7.5k from any lender with the sort of picture you're painting.

7.5k no identification, no employment details, cash in hand by the sounds of it.

If he's only recently opened the new account, it's unlikely they'll lend that sort of money with such short history.

Whilst any potential lender needs to be able to verify his identity they don't need to see photo ID and don't need him to be wasting money on a fast track passport. There are thousands of people in the UK without a passport or official photo ID. Those people can still get credit.

Is he on the electoral roll? You say his credit file is very good so it sounds like he is.

I'd suggest he talks to the potential lender about what else they would consider as satisfactory verification documents for money laundering purposes.
There is a long list of documents that are acceptable (letters from the benefits agency, tax code notices are all acceptable for example).

How much does he actually earn pa? or year to date? presumably he is truly employed (not self-employed or a subcontractor?) Wage slip paper print outs from his employer will be fine as long as they are clearly genuine, show the employers name and the earnings for the month and year to date, the tax deducted, tax code etc. Plus he presumably has his P60 from last year to help demonstrate that his salary is stable.

You say his credit file is very good, so he may stand a better chance approaching a lender he already has credit with, or whom he has had an account with in the last couple of years.

And I'd suggest you only borrow in your name if you're happy to never get it back. Or lose your friend.
