...hmmm...tell the loan sharks there is no money...are drugs involved? His son has rang up some debt with loan-sharks who have provided a dead line for the money to be paid by that date!(Unfortunately they do have a bit of a reputation these guys!)
My friend and his son are under no circumstances wanting to get the police involved unless its the last straw!
Yes friends son is kicking himself/beating himself up for getting involved with these private loan sharks in the first place.
In an ideal world friend wants to pay his debt off and move on.
It has only recently come to light so please spare the obvious remarks for getting involved with these kind of people in the first place etc
What can the loan shark take? Does your friends son own anything of value? Personally I would not bail out someone who is getting into this sort of trouble...the debt could just as easily be ran up again. What will happen if the money isn't paid back on time?:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

It's a long story, bottom line is he needs this money ASAP
there are no valuables, loan sharks would be advised there is no money (which would be the last straw ie unable to find a loan company who would be willing to lend the money without wage slips etc)
At this present time my friend is searching around to see if there are any loan companies who would accept him purely based on his credit file?
As a general rule of thumb do majority of loan companies ask for proof?Or is it the luck of the draw?0 -
If worst comes to the worst I am confident I could get the loan in my own name but would prefer to see if friend can simply get it in his own name.0

Depending on how much money is required, perhaps your friend could approach his current bank and ask for an onverdraft? and/or a loan from them - surely they can see from his file the regular income/expenditure and will be able to assess affordability based on that? And they've already checked his ID.0

True, will tell him to try that.Unsure how the new bank will look at this as its a new account with nothing significant paid in as he has been getting cash in envelope until work starts paying wages into his bank.
He probably could request previous statements from his previous bank but unsure if they would be any good as he was on benefits before hand..0 -
He is looking to borrow £7500..0
-
He is also going to put pressure on for wage slip/proof of earnings first thing tomorrow morning..0

All sounds a bit too fishy even for us mere readers.
Urgent loan, cash in hand, no wage slips, just closed a bank account, dodgy employment, loan sharks etc.
Tax being paid? NI? Doubt it.
Tell the two of them to sell something (not drugs).
What chance do you really see of those two repaying a loan?0 -
Ok appreciated so let's keep the question simple as some people become suspicious/paranoid easily..
Question - Are there any loan company's who give out loans without I'd/proof of earnings?
Simple answer is requires yes or no nothing more nothing less no more why, who, drugs, who's it for? Etc
No offence to other users - Please stick to the question no more opening things up,integration etc just a simple answer yes or no or even if someone has had experience in obtaining a loan without proof etc0
