Morning all, just a quicky from me cos I really shouldn't be on here!!

Got my laptop fixed yesterday :j I had been quoted £150 and £190 previously and really couldn't afford it, but noticed a new laptop clinic near me and thought I'd pop in see what they reckon. Turns out it wasn't the hard drive after all, just 5 windows components missing which he replaced for me for a grand total of £25!! :T So saved myself well over £100 yesterday by popping in there!

Then did a mystery shop, got another one today, so being good on the MS front.

Plus I decided yesterday that I spend far too much money on books, I read 2 - 3 books a week on the train journey to and from work. I get them from the charity shop so it's only 50p-£1 each but it all adds up. So I took DS down to the library yesterday and we joined up, came out with 15 books between us!! So sorry to the charities that are missing out on my book buying but charity begins at home when your skint huh??!

Right better get going! Speak to you all later xx

    Thank Rachel and Sea,

it's something we've wanted to do for ages especially when we were deep in debt and had just enough equity in our house to clear it and go away. We were too scared to do it back then (couple of years ago now) for various reasons, mainly jobs, but the last 2 years have seen a lot of changes with us. My dh has a new career (HGV driver) which we think could be ok to get back into after a year out and we've sold our house, become debt free and just have a different outlook on life now. We don't feel as trapped by everything if you know what I mean. My kids are 7 (soon) and 5 and we're planning to go in 2 years which will give my dh the experience he needs in his job. It'll be hard to save for it, mostly using matched betting for now, but we'll see as I'm sure it will run out at some point!!

Did loads of clicks last night (oh so boring, but needs must) and entered a few comps so fingers crossed I win something! Have counted up my pennies saved to date and stuck them in my pending total as I've not enough to bank. Once I bank some they'll move to the other total.

Ok, I've been following this thred for a bit now, and have decided - I'm in (if thats ok with you guys). I'm always in and out of debt, which gets in the way of all the things I want to do so I'm going to come up with a budget and a plan. Hopefully it can be sorted out fairly quickly, and I can cut up all the cards!

    Hi Farenheit,

good luck with the challenge - interailing sounds fun. I did this before kids and loved it!

That sounds fab! Will have to work harder on my hubbie. Our attitudes are so different. Only last night he said "we'll never be out of debt"!!! where will we get with an attitude like that!! Just have to work harder and try to persuade him lol

Thanks Kbarty - travelling is my all time favourite thing, which may explain why I am always in debt!

Right - been working it all now and my head hurts! I think it works out at about £56ish, but I've transferred £50 from paypal into my debt account and will call it £50 all in and add all the little bits as they mount up from now on!! Then I won't (hopefully) get into a complete muddle.

I'm going to do the change jar challenge and add up and bank what's in there on the last day of this challenge as money towards the £300 (bronze, but you never know!). I still am unsure about overlapping the 2 challenges - this and lympic - should I count things 2ce - once for this and once for that? Or should I not start that until this one is finished? What's anyone else doing?

Hi sea if I were u I would count whatever u've made or saved in other challenges and use it here, it all counts. All I want people to do in this challenge is see if u can raise a £1000 in 2 months. no matter where it comes from!!! maybe in ur sig put the challenges and at the end put = ???/£1000 challenge? hope that helps XXCDXX
