There is apparently a dearth of perfume samples these days. Have manufacturers finally caught onto the fact some people used to collect samples every weekend and just never buy the perfume?

Boots have said they only really have samples in when there is a specific new promotion for an existing perfume or a new product launch for a new one.

The Perfume Shop had none and said I should just get a spray of something different from their counter bottles to try each time I'm in.

Debenhams also didn't have very much but they did pass on 4 little vials of perfume.

I'm surprised. I'm not in town very often so 'popping in' isn't really the best option. I was hoping to get loads of samples and road test over a week or two to find out which one was best to buy.

Sample-size perfumes often end up on EBay. It might be worth a look on there?

I wear Insolence by Guerlain, it's normally quite expensive but last time I checked in Boots (Juneish) it was on offer at £29 so I thought yippeee and took it to the till where it magically became £17!! I put a spray on each wrist and throat every day and a bottle lasts me about 10 months so it works out quite cheap to smell so nice!!

    Just [STRIKE]nosy[/STRIKE] curious really. :D

I'm sure it will come as no surprise to some of you to find out I don't have/wear perfume :rotfl: but as part of my 'new me' plan I'm going to get some samples to see what I like then son is going to buy me some for my birthday when it comes.

I used to like D&G Light Blue (I'm not fond of 'heavy' smells iyswim).

    What do you wear?

I still like Light Blue - and the Marks version (Azure Breeze) is very very similar, I buy that one now as its so much cheaper, and I always get comments on how nice it is when I spray it.

Just found a sample of Madly Kenzo in a drawer so thought I'd give it a try.

Urghhhh is all I can say to that!

*goes to scrub arms to rid them of the horrible smell*

ETA: in fact someone just walked in and asked why there was a smell of mouldy oranges in the air :rotfl:

I also like the DKNY Apple range. Hard to get the last bits out, though, as the shape is wide.

I'm becoming a bit of a perfume fiend, - whenever I go in Boots I peruse their perfume counter and have a sniff of a few of the fragrances on display :D

I sprayed some Chanel No 5 today and I almost wish I hadn't. It smells lovely but it's so expensive  Reckon I'll have to do a few more surveys, or ask for some Boots vouchers for Xmas/birthdays.
