  • Well I take all my cynicism back. Sat down for a cup of coffee after a busy few hours and thought I'd have a quick look at my dashboard. I found a 10 minute survey for 250. Monumentally boring (about business solutions) but it credited and I've reached my best score ever for a day at 442/90.

    Very pleased :j

Now if they could credit my two missing dailys and the 260 points they currently owe me for email surveys I'd be even more pleased!

Completed a DS that went 'page cannot be found', then when I refreshed it kindly took me back to the beginning LOL!

On 9SB for a search so far, took me about 9 searches to get it though. Having a bit of a lazy night tonight so will try and get a few more if I can but not overly worried.

Well done everyone on hitting the months target!

After I reached target I did a full scan using Malwarebytes, it brought up 20 PIP items, which I understood meant Potentially Unwanted Programmes and also 1 search conduit item (tho I have tried a few searches today and 'won' 3) I tried to remove them, but the programme froze and I got a 'not responding' message, same happened when I tried a quick scan, tho that only showed up 6 items. Not sure what programme to use instead.

Cath- this is exactly what I was talking about. and to everyone who is accusing me of scare mongering and not knowing what I'm talking about- rubbish! I know exactly what I download- it's in my downloads file for a start. I never click on dody website, links or anything like it. I'm very careful. The only things I download are uni docs and mystery shopping briefs and certainly NONE of those are at fault. It is the PUP files and the search conduit files that contain hidden viruses. If you choose to stay ignorant about this, that's your problem. But don't accuse me of making false accusations and no knowing what I'm talking about. If I'd known you wanted 'proof' I'd have photographed my screen so you could see the files names I'm talking about. It has affected another machine in our house, so maybe I'll just do that. Then you can eat your words. I'm only trying to save you all a lot of hassle and money!

The word potentially is very important there. Ultimately, these 'people' that you are referring to are me and maybe one other person. I was pointing out that you cannot guarantee that this was caused by Swagbucks, I've had no problems on either of my laptops, my PC or my tablet.

Also, your message comes across as really hostile, calling people ignorant and using quotations around 'proof' is ridiculous. You state that you never download anything then you've gone on, more than once, to list all the supposedly safe items that you do download.

I was pointing out to you that you cannot go around on the internet just categorically stating that a certain website or search function has downloaded items, a business could take potentially severe action against someone for posting what could be deemed as slanderous comments without proof, or 'proof' as you call it. Also, you stated that it was the Swagbucks search page that has installed these items, when you possibly meant the toolbar, that is something different entirely and I've never downloaded the toolbar, so I am not remaining ignorant.

Evidently you don't know what you are talking about as you've stated that you don't download anything, then listed things you download, you've then started calling people ignorant and stating that things are rubbish. You made comments, which are not 100% factual until you can provide proof otherwise, which is why I asked you a number of questions. Instead of having a rational discussion you've chosen to bypass myself, and others, to instead try and have digs at us without directing it to us. That is why I have questioned your post from the beginning, if you were directing your post with the full facts and correct information (for example talking about the Swagbucks search engine, which appears on their website, when you seem to mean the downloadable toolbar) then I would have said nothing and beared your advice in mind. Instead you're only giving partial information and facts at a time, rather than just one consistent message to get your point across.
