Swagbucks - September 2013

I only ever used the swagbucks toolbar for swagbucks searches, usually copying the phrases people post on here. I never clicked on anything, that's what concerns me.

Do a search for other people that have had problems with it and you'll see it's a common fact.

We had it on two windows laptops in our house and it's corrupted both of them. One we have fixed, but the other is a work in progress.

If you haven't had problems then fair enough, but I want people to be warned because I'm clearly not the only one who has experienced this. Losing a laptop is never worth what you get in swagbucks!!!

I am concerned that you claim to never have clicked on anything. At some point you must have clicked on a virus ridden link, opened a bad e-mail or downloaded something that was masquerading as something else. You have downloaded the Swagbucks Toolbar, yet you claim to have never downloaded anything, if you don't remember that you downloaded that how do you remember anything else you've downloaded?

I use Swagbucks daily, often opening search results, and I have no problems with my computer. Just ensuring that I have enough sense not to download things or open things from websites I don't know and trust is enough for me and my computer is as clean as a whistle.

Scaremongering people over something that is clearly factually incorrect is just unnecessary. If you were saying that this definitely came from the Swagbucks Toolbar, and had facts to corroborate this, then fair enough, but ultimately you could have got this from anywhere. The Swagbucks website itself is not a problem unless you choose to download items from it, that could contain viruses, this is the same anywhere really and no-one forces anyone to download the toolbar or anything on the Swagbucks website.

Just to clarify; if in doubt or worried don't download the Swagbucks Toolbar. You really need to be very aware of yourself online when making 'guaranteed' claims that something is a provider of a virus or malware etc, particularly without hard evidence.

Also, with Malware, you need to be sure that you have truly removed the items from your computer. They can easily be disguising themselves ready to just pop up and 'reinfect' your computer all over again.

After I reached target I did a full scan using Malwarebytes, it brought up 20 PIP items, which I understood meant Potentially Unwanted Programmes and also 1 search conduit item (tho I have tried a few searches today and 'won' 3) I tried to remove them, but the programme froze and I got a 'not responding' message, same happened when I tried a quick scan, tho that only showed up 6 items. Not sure what programme to use instead.

Try Malwarebytes again, it might need updating

Scan, Clean, I left everything ticked

Than I ran Malware again and it found nothing

Edit to add - monday am, 8.30am
I think I must have deleted the SB toolbar when I did this, oops, lol

so I have recached goal and just ordered £25 amazon voucher

Am I just being cynical or am I getting no surveys at all because its the last day of the month and they don't want me to hit the monthly target? Determined to hit it though.

Just downloaded the jungle game for android. Hoping it will credit otherwise its going to be a day of SBTV - edit 10.30am it just credited. Just need 12 for goal now can do that on sbtv if necessary
