My Nan used to have a cat called Tinker and he was very sweet too 
Cats gets used to their new names soon enough I got my cat from the CP in January. They named her 'Cassandra', but we shortened it to Cassie, and that suits her much better
Oooh, I bet you can't wait! I was so excited when we were going to bring Cassie home, (and then it got delayed a week by snow!) She was very nervous when we first got her home, which was to be expected, but it didn't take her long to stop hiding SPC '21 #0750 -

Collected Tinka this morning, we've allowed him access to half the ground floor so far. He's eaten, used his litter tray twice, inspected a lot, miaowed a lot (very squeaky kitten-like miaow), spent some time on our laps and is currently curled up on the sofa in our sunroom where I was sitting earlier looking like he wants to sleep. He was scratching a bit earlier so I rang the lady at CP and he was last de-fleaed 4 weeks ago, so OH was sent to PAH to buy some very expensive Advocate. He was fine about us putting it on him.
