    Good enough for me.

Apologies to pedalpower for the suspicion.

Why the AE? A clever move on your part? Wrong in more than one level I suggest. If you were honest you would display your usual MSE username. Feel free to do so.

Tried to PM you earlier with a thankyou for your time and help but your inbox was full. Wasn't being ungrateful :-)

[PEDANT MODE] In UK English it's "different from". US English is "different than". [/PEDANT MODE]
Having written defences for around 50 people who have had court claims from PE, I can tell you that the vast majority seem to think that everything is going to be spoonfed to them, they don't have to do any work or research, and they can swan around tapping a few keys on their iPhones and everything will go away. When they realise that they might actually have to stand up in court and present their case to a Judge, they generally fold quicker than a deckchair in a gale on Blackpool beach.

However I do have a few stalwarts who are prepared to stand up and be counted. The first of these went to court in Sheffield this week, and the claimant in this case was Excel, who are based in, er, Sheffield - they never turned up, so the claim was struck out.

My PE cases will be coming to court in September and October, and I'm turning up for one of them to help the defendant in person. Will update when more details available.

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.

Good news about the Excel claim. Not only for the person involved but for everyone else who may have to stand up in court. Will enjoy hearing about your other cases (I hope!)

Deliberately full most of the time this month and next, because of a recent bereavement. :(

LOL! You know I am a pedant too and that's one I normally notice myself; can't believe I typed it! I agree with you! Criticism accepted! :)

I too am helping with a shed load of PE cases and a few non-PE.

None have yet got to court. In some cases PE have made an offer to settle which some defendants have taken up. In others, mostly a court date has not even been set yet.
