I've been keeping a close eye on these pcn threads as I'm fighting one myself, and one thing I don't understand is why nobody on here mentions ever actually being to court to defend themselves?

Probably because most pay?
I've just started out on the road to defending at Court, having received an N1. I have no intention of paying and being more than used to attending Court, it holds no fears for me. So, unless this matter is resolved before that happens you'll be getting what happened at Court and verdict result mentioned by me.0 -

Good! I'm in the same boat only not as far along in the process as you are - and last time I was in court I got well and truly shafted!
Just puzzles me that there seems to be so many court papers issued but little to no evidence of actual court appearances.

Good for you but many people despite all their initial good intentions will fold & settle before it reaches court especially when presented with a blizzard of legal bollox by the PPC. Mostly those who do hold their nerve don't end up in court either as the PPCs fold when presented with a determined defendant.
Determined and unafraid. If it goes to Court, I'll be there.Good! I'm in the same boat only not as far along in the process as you are - and last time I was in court I got well and truly shafted!

It's win - win! We can't get shafted. Going to Court and losing (don't think I will) is the same as paying the claim. Plus I'll get a day out and whoever PE send is going to get a very hard time.0 -
Just to make sure everything is above board, before I post any more I'll flag up this thread -

You can make up your own minds.
Am I missing something here? Why is that thread even slightly relevant?
This just raises suspicion even more about you as you seem obsessed with trying to gain the trust of the members on here.
I'll be keeping my eye on you. My parking eye. . . !0 -
If parking eye send an agent from the rent-a-crap lawyer agency.
Make sure when the judge introduces everyone and asks "Are we all happy to proceed"
You ask the judge to satisfy the right of audience of this representative of a representative and in what capacity they are employed, by who, on what relation to the agent and subsequently who instructed them, the land owner or the agent representing the landowner.
You have a very good chance of the rent-crap-lawyer getting slung out as they are not the company solicitor and should be a barrister if not directly employed .
Judges hate the proverbial been taken in respect of right of audience, some won't even grant a company solicitor it let alone someone on an agency .
Well worth an initial challenge to get them slung straight out before kick off.Be happy...;)0 -

Sorry for being simple but are you saying whoever turns up to fight the claimants corner must either be the company solicitor or a qualified/registered(?) barrister?0 -

I posted that so that somebody doesn't try and accuse me of hiding it, arousing more suspicion.0 -
