Discouraging viewings after offer accepted?

  • I would get fed up with 3 viewings. i wouldnt expect another viewing till contracts were exchanged. I think i would start not being available for viewings. Just say your child is ill, youve got their friends round etc etc
Good luck with the sale though

I've always taken my mum round - it's an opinion from someone who probably knows you best and who will give an honest view.

And if your mum told you to pull out?!

We took our parents round before we put an offer in, don't really see what's wrong with that to be fair. Certainly doesn't make us 14, but we are still relatively young FTBs (23 & 24)

It was a big decision and we wanted the input of people close to us who have been there and done it. We probably wouldn't do it next time, but who knows how we will feel. We viewed our house 4 times (twice before offer) in total.

You see, if a vendor continually made excuses about a third viewing, then I would probably be getting suspicious or plain irritated!

Surely if your buyer gives a reasonable ..er.. reason and notice that they would like to visit, what's the problem?

For the record , we're going for our 2nd viewing (to view F&F) tomorrow (our offer was accepted about 7 weeks ago)...

I think you are extremely accommodating DRP!!! Bringing Mum round is a bloomin' cheek at this stage - is your buyer 14?? I would be getting very p-d off but if you're happy with it, then that's fine. It's down to personal tolerance really.

What if Mum, Granny or Uncle is the one who's the surveyor in the family? :D

I'm with DRP, there's more to worry about than doing a quick tidy and vacuum. Much more!

    I'd tell her I wasn't a catholic.

we took our son to view on the 4th viewing, if the vender had a problem , tough , I could have had a problem with him being drunk on our 2nd viewing but I didn't :rotfl:

what is wrong with people ?
10 viewings by 10 different couples ,no sale
5 viewings by the same couple , who has committed to buy
I know which I would rather have

should have mentioned on our 3rd viewing we took my brother (retired structural engineer)

we were completely honest with the EA and told them , they had no problem and to be honest I was glad we did as was the vender as it turns out , he went in the loft and could see daylight, not a big problem but the vender had no idea and has since had the work done,
