Well, while I can't promise that anyone here is on their best behaviour, I can almost guarantee it will be bl**dy good fun tagging along for the ride! I can't stay and play too much longer as I have to be up at 3am (have I mentioned that I am NOT a morning person) to head down to Folkestone. I will, however, be putting all those Euro coins into my gas tank on the mainland so at least I will be using up something that is no good to me here.

Had a pretty good day today and found 40p tucked into one of our travel bags! Score! Really, really excited to see that $750 hit my US account and watch the balance on the cc drop. I have two debts remaining (surely this deserves 6 Ryan G. cupcakes...:D....) and I should probably split them out in my signature this weekend so I can track it better.

So I won't be back until late on Saturday.....can I trust you all to play nice and not to make too much mess in the kitchen? No? That's what I figured!!!!

Lol! You have no idea, C-R! I have also found my share of jewellery and used to work for a diamond dealer. Once spotted a ring in a silver section of a jewellers. I knew from once glance that it wasn't silver or CZ. Walked out with a 1ctw white gold diamond band for $7.....which I promptly sold on Ebay!!

Hiya wegle!! Missed you guys too! Still driving but I set up a matched bet yesterday while travelling (how's that for dedication!!) and have just discovered I won a tenner!! Also found £1.48 roadkill!!!!!!! I should travel more often! Plus I've got rid of all the euro coins - I literally have 9 euro cents in pennies and that's only because a lot of shops won't take them!

I swear, I couldn't make this up!! Traveling back up the country, I had to go through Dartford toll booth and had enough change to hit the drive through lanes. Remember here that my steering wheel is on the wrong side of the car for this but I threw my coins at the basket anyhow......and heard one fall. Darn it! I get out all flustered, run round to the other side of the car and there on the floor is my 50p.......with a 5p next to it! Roadkill! Literally! So I threw the 50p in the basket, picked up the 5p, and beamed with glee at the lady driving the car behind me.......who looked at me with an expression that can only have meant she would happily run me down if my car wasn't blocking her exit........

Guess we can't all be happy people!!

Oooooooooooooo!!! I just got some interesting news tonight. I have 3 pieces of jewellery on consignment. To be honest, if the one large piece sold, I could clear all my debt in one go but, alas and alack, it's such a large piece that it will simply take time to find the right buyer. Anyhoooooo, I have received word that one of the other pieces might just be sold.....it will be going on a 3 month layaway which means I won't get the pennies until Christmas time BUT it will probably mean shaving 2 months off my debt free date. I would love some crossed fingers if you can spare them (you know, if you're not kneading scones, mixing cupcake mix, or licking icing off Ryan Gosling's face.....:D)!!!!!! Oh this would be so darn perfect if it works out! :eek:

Lol! Judging by the smiley, no!! It's when you find coins on the street! My hubby is from Mississippi and even though we haven't eaten dead squirrel to save on groceries, I am unable to entirely count it out due to his past!

LOL! I remember finding £20 on the street once as a child with my elderly grandmother who made me go 50/50 with her because I was "under her watch" :rotfl:. She also used to shoot animals that came onto her land and later eat her "catch", wasn't all bad as I can remember some nice pheasant. (that's my embarrassing story for the day told)
