Halifax Clarity Reward £5's

Can anyone confirm if getting the £5 cashback is still a possibility? I have a Halifax Reward Current account (where i get £5 cashback) and I'm now looking at getting the Clarity credit card as my first credit card - that said, online there's no mention of any cashback with the credit card? If i sign up to and spend over £300 will i get it back automatically anyway?0

Yes there is. It's clearly laid out in the Clarity card's T&Cs...online there's no mention of any cashback with the credit card?
http://www.halifax.co.uk/creditcards/low-rate-no-fee/clarity-card/terms/ (see section 11).
And in the 'common enquiries' section they tell you how you can apply for the Clarity Rewards credit card...

Much the same as the detail already provided in post #11 just before yours and dated just 3 days ago!0 -
oh, ok - so I can't apply for it online, even though I have a reward current account already? Meaning the Clarity credit card and Clarity Reward Credit card are two different cards?0
-
As far as I know the cards look identical, ie one doesn't say Reward on it. They'll have to set an internal flag on your account, which is why you need to make a specific Clarity Rewards application in branch.oh, ok - so I can't apply for it online? Reading further through the T&C's of the online clarity card it looks like it shouldn't matter, as the reward is clearly mentioned there too. As long as you meat the criteria that is!
To be eligible for the reward set out in condition 11.1, you must, at the time you enter into this agreement:-
(a) hold a Halifax current account and pay in £1,000 or more each month;
(b) use our switching service to move your current account to a Halifax Current Account and agree to pay in £1,000 or more each month;
(c) open or hold a Halifax Ultimate Reward Current Account.
Since i already hold a current account, it shouldn't be a problem!0 -
So you're going to chance an online application for the Clarity card then, despite what they say online and the fact that the T&Cs are a 'draft' copy, ie not specific to your personal application*...and argue the toss when you don't get the £5 Reward?Reading further through the T&C's of the online clarity card it looks like it shouldn't matter, as the reward is clearly mentioned there too. Good luck!
* The T&Cs, ie your personal copy, they send you to sign may not include a section 11.0 -
I was wondering if someone could refresh my memory on how the £5 reward works with the Clarity card for those who qualified for it.
I know you have to spend £300 in a statement period to earn £5, but do you still have to fulfil the reward conditions on the current account (which used to be pay in £1,000/month, recently £750/month) ?
Have I missed something here ? I think having a discussion about this is pointless and just a waste of time.
If you have a reward current account it is always your best interest to keep paying £750 monthly to meet the reward conditions of the your current account to earn your monthly fiver. Unless you do not want to get a free £5 monthly.0 -

But beyond that, I'm with you!0 -
Do they still do the £5 reward on the credit card for new customers? I couldn't see it on their website http://www.halifax.co.uk/creditcards/low-rate-no-fee/clarity-card/ .
It would be a thing that they shout about if they still did, no?0 -

Yes they do. See section 11 of the Terms and Conditions.
