What 'Back to School' stuff do you still need to buy?

My Ds is in primary school and his uniform is quite basic, i do have to buy the school jumpers with the logo on. But everything else can be bought from most Supermarkets. They are even allowed to wear trainers.
My Dd is starting secondary school this year and although the uniform isn't too bad it has cost double to kit her out than it did Ds. Certain jumpers with logo, certain P.E tops with logo. Certain shoes and dark coats only.
I bought shoes last Friday and that was me finished. Well, for a couple of weeks until my Ds needs his shoes replaced.
In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different.

I noticed that many of the shops had 'back to school' displays before the holidays had even started! Talk about putting a dampener on things

We went shopping yesterday. Youngest (10) starts back tomorrow. Eldest (13) Wednesday.
Before going I got all uniform out of drawers, wardrobes etc and placed it on the kitchen table. Daughter's one side, son's the other. Then all in seperate piles eg PE, trousers, shirts, jumpers. We then went by them one by one trying on. Anything beyond redemption went in the rag-bag recycling pile. Anything good but no longer fitting in charity pile. Then I did a list of what we needed to 'top up'.
At Matalan we bought DS shirts and trousers, DD a coat and both new underwear. In Brantano taking DD's broken (less than a month old!) sandalls back meant £20 towards ds's new shoes. We finished off in Sports Direct for football boots (DS) and new shorts for both. Bill for all this £103.
Today I went to son's school and got 1 new jumper and a spare tie for £19..0
