  • My wife seemed a bit cross when I bought her a 2 inch stainless steel performance exhaust for her Mx5, for a birthday, along with 2 rose bushes. She'd have preferred flowers that last 5 days ?
And she asked for something shiney

6 Months later she admits to 'liking' the new exhaust note (it's a bit deeper and slightly louder), and I've bought 12 or more roses in at the rate of 2 a week, so really I've provided 6 weeks of roses in the house.

Its my birthday today too!!! Happy birthday too you!

I got a card from my OH with a promise that we'll go shopping 'at some point'. I didn't get a present because 'you didn't tell me what you wanted'. A surprise or thinking for himself would have been nice, but I'm probably being too optimistic!!! lol

I'll be dragging him into town sooner rather than later I think!!! :rotfl:

As wife to a contender of the most absent-minded man in history, thinking for themselves sometimes doesn't work! My OH goes into a blind panic if I tell him I don't mind what he gets me for my birthday and starts probing my family. I've always ended up telling him something specific (even though I'm not bothered) as if I didn't I think he'd melt into a pool of sweat. I'd hate to think what he'd get me if I didn't....
  • That's not bad going, remembering a throwaway comment from years ago and thinking that might be a nice thing to get you.

    Happy birthday, anyway!

I get stick from my mates for being the person who was presented with an ornamental cabbage for my birthday (five days late because he spent the money I'd lent him on fags) by an ex. When I lived in a flat with no garden. And that was an achievement, because he normally didn't bother at all.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

Love this post, specially the dildo bit. I was going to say that I thought it was something like a wooden rail you put round the middle of the wall in a room but someone would have come up and said ;no, that's a dado' but that's just my sense of humour working overtime lol.

Happy birthday to you both, hope you each have a lovely day.

    Annie

    easy mistake.

I do remember one xmas around 1997,my bil had this and I had one glass and said it was lovely.

    Happy Birthday!

    When's his birthday?

Has he ever said anything of yours is lovely? (i.e. a thong, or high heels?).

If yes, then you know what to get him for HIS birthday!!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
