Are the vegans and vegetarians still feeding meat products to their pets too?“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

The way he said it though using 'my animals' doesn't infer hypocrisy, just the disturbed relationship we have with other species where we will treasure a being that can give the same love and affection as one we eat (i.e. pigs are much like dogs in their behaviour and according to studies "smarter" than dogs). Lambs also 'wag' their tails like a dog and enjoy being petted if they learn to trust humans.
I love rats, I've had them as pets and cried buckets when they died, but I'd still call a man in to get rid of them if wild ones were getting into my house.
The world is not a warm and fuzzy place where everything is black and white. You make the choices you're happy with, and everyone else can do the same.0 -

I used to work with a vegetarian woman who fed her dogs a vegetarian diet. Her husband still got the choice to eat meat though..0 -

There have been cases of vegans stopping feeding cats meat and as a result the cats end up very ill as they need the taurine (think that's the right word!) that they get from the meat.0 -
Last time I looked, I had canine teeth evolved for gripping flesh and incisor teeth evolved for slicing flesh. There is nothing wrong with eating meat - it is a perfectly natural thing.
I have no problem at all with vegetarians or vegans living that lifestyle for reasons of religion or morality or health, but I do object to those who claim that it is 'wrong' to eat meat.
The debate (if there is one to be had), should be about the humane raising and slaughter of animals for meat or use for eggs or dairy. This should mean raising and allowing animals to be kept in as natural an environment as possible without cruelty or suffering and for slaughter to be carried out humanely without cruelty or suffering.

My cats and my dogs don't have a choice to eat meat, without it, the cats especially they would die.
I on the other hand won't die if I don't eat meat, I therefore don't need it and therefore don't eat it0 -

They wouldn't.
It is possible to have vegetarian diets for both cats and dogs.0 -

John Sakars (maker of the video) has made several new videos showing the realities of factory farming (click on his youtube profile for the rest).
I'm sharing it simply because I think it should be shared. Not forcing you to watch it, but it would be for your benefit if you do. Knowledge is power, after all.
I've no interest in this turning into a debate either. I just think people need to know.
Anywho, posted it in this section as less likely to end up a circular argument like it would in DT. Hope mods don't mind.
Thanks that reinforces my decision to only buy meat from the local farm shop.0 -

If you have access to a search engine you will see that you are incorrect.0
