Fifty days ago I discovered that for nine years I had been paying commercial water rates for my private flat.
I was just wondering, what this person meant by 'paying commercial water rates,' as i also live in a flat, just myself and iccle boy and my water seems v.expensive, its approx £45 per month.

I copied this info below from AW site as all I could think was that it meant they are paying all 3 amounts:-unmeasured charges - standard rate

:confused:Could anyone advise how I can claim "single person charges" from AW ?
 Is it similar to Single person Council Tax?

Im looking for anything I can do to reduce my water bills apart from go onto a metre.

Anglia have a SOLO rate for customers using less than 75 cu metres a year. You need to be on a meter. £45 a month is too much.
You always pay for the water supply and one of the other items but not both.

 Does any1 know how I can find out how much water I use or used last year ?
Would it be on my bill or could i phone them ? Any1 have any 01/02 Tel No.s to hand instead of 0845 Tel No.s please.
    Thanks.

150 litres per person per day equiv to 55cu m. each year, tho if you are careful, you might just get under the 75 cu.m for you and ickle boy.

Thank You for answering my (possible silly) questions and queries, I hope you dont mind me asking another.

In regards to using 75cu.m each year, approx how much water could i used per week? I supposse I would need to start to budget and ration water usage in the things in my flat that use water.

I think I use the following things which I use loads of times each day:-
    flush toilet,

    1-2 times every day:-
    Make juice/drink water,
    Use to cook with,
Rinse and fill water bottles to put in fridge,
    use washing machine,
    sink to wash pots,
sink to clean teeth & wash,
bath (sometimes ill have 1 in morn & ds will have 1 in evening)

    Each week I occassionally use:-
    Fill & boil kettle,
Clean Bath, (3-4 times per wk)
    Fill bucket and mop floor

I think that is all the water i use. Although I have probably left out a major use. I dont have dish washer, shower or hose/outside water so do you think i would be ok or am I using too much and need to cut down by going on metre/solo ?
:A Hope you dont mind me asking.:A

    You should be well in...

    http://www.sustainable-development.gov.uk/regional/summaries/16-anglian.htm

...but I'm talking about Anglia region who has SOLO tariff.
Not sure about other areas. Water metering is good. Fair.
