I often do this and have used miso paste, tom yum paste, chicken bovril etc as well as adding various sliced veggies (mushrooms, spring onions, mange tout etc) and prawns or shredded chicken etc.
You're right, of course - I do this with Thai curry paste for a quick noodle soup - but then it stops being a 'guilty pleasure' and just becomes a pleasure - it's the chemicals that make it so special!Back after a very long break!0 -

dream topping:o
I NEED to get some of that, I didn't even know they still made it.
I used to use it for trifle, a layer of jelly, a layer of blancmange and a layer of dream topping sprinkled with a crushed cadbury's flake.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
ambrosia rice pudding (ideally eaten from the can - depends on company) i hate hot milk or rice pud skin - so ambrosia is the answer.
also heinz tomato soup - i can make soup and often do - but i can not make tomato soup like this.
i was introduced to both these foods by my grandad so nostalgia plays a big part.Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0 -

Chow mein flavour Super noodles with southern fried chicken bits is a guilty pleasure of mine.
And a burger is not a burger in our house without a slice of plastic cheese - somehow using proper cheese isn't quite right!0 -

Just thought of another one which I've not had for a very long time. Might have to remedy that soon
Hot pork pie in a bowl of mushy peas with onion slices which have been marinated for a few hours (or overnight) in vinegar & sugar “You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0
