I had this recently, lost many channels and initially a re-tune made no difference but after several attempts they finally came back.

6/7 people have a indoor aerial fitted to a digital box which gives them a average TV picture . and two of us myself included have a outdoor aerial and a digital box with a perfect TV picture
Digital reception is either on or off so 'average TV picture' must mean sometimes on and sometimes off.

In fact, your post says it all really (on/off reception with indoor aerials and perfect reception with outdoor aerials).
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
