hi stefano don't buy the wendy lou tablet. mine malfunctioned very soon after i bought it and they didn't repair it and then refunded me only half of what i paid, saying it's a stocking fee. amazon aren't being any help either, take my advice don't buy a cheap tablet from an unknown seller, spend the money in a proper retailer, it's cheaper in the long run
apparently wendy lou have been booted off amazon, though i do't think amazon like to say that, due to the number of recent complaints. i would never buy from any amazon marketplace seller again.

If it's a UK seller, then complain to trading standards. If the device is faulty, then they have to repair it or refund the whole amount.

I bought the 8" version on behalf of a friend, earlier this year. She is absolutely delighted with it.

Notice that the one you are looking at is 10". Suggest you physically check at some high street retailers before making a purchase, doesn't matter what brand, just check what size you would be happy with.

Just had a look at some of the other versions of the Sumvision on ebuyer. I'd be more tempted by one of the quad core tablets.
  • I am also very tempted by the Sumvision. I don't want to buy Apple as I am fed up with iTunes so Android is the preference. However more generally a couple of questions on tablets:
    1. If I buy a 3G tablet does that mean it is connected or do I have to go and find a contract to connect?
    2. If I have an Android tablet with WiFi will I be able to see a network attached fileserver at home rather like a PC?

    thanks.

    1. You will need to buy data, whether it be by contract or PAYG.
    2. You should be able to access NAS via android, but would check with your particular NAS product.
    Just an example for Netgear...

There should be new iPads being announced in October so I'd suggest waiting in case the mini comes down in price.
    What will your verse be?

What practical difference is there between dual core and quad core?

Oh no! This could start off a huge debate, and I'm really not wanting to go into all that. Do a Google search and you will find plenty of different thoughts, over a huge array of different tablets and phones with different dual and quad processors.

When I mentioned the quad core, I was specifically talking about the Sumvision tablets with the Rockchip processors. The quad core, coupled with the 2Gb RAM on the Cyclone Voyager 2 tablets will be faster than the dual core with 1GB RAM.

At the end of the day, it's down to what you can afford. If you are really wanting a 10" tablet, there is a big difference in the price. Whereas there's not too much difference if you could go for the 7.9".

On a tablet 10.1 i can say Galaxy dual core 1GB was a very usable machine but the Galaxy quad core 2Gb is faster and smoother .
Great deal of difference no but on cheaper models i would want plenty of reviews and feedback .
