Worth checking but these are frequently worded as secondary cover policies and so only provide cover if there is no other insurance in place. The OP has said they do have AD cover on their home insurance so it may well be the case that the card cover wont cover because the Home insurance does but it isnt economical to claim on the Home cover0 -
Hi , OP do try the handbag clinic or similar. I have sent quite a few veery old Chanel bags to them for recolouring or cleaning and they are excellent. When you send your bag in they will contact you and tell you what can be done pretty quickly and they are good, and not that costly either.0

Sorry melaniep101 you omitted the 3 question or exclamation marks that the O.P used for her opener, they perhaps would have shown you weren't being serious.Yet the following poster is "gutted" and according to moromir I need to get over myself.I know in the grand scheme of things it is annoying when you ruin something new it's just some of the replies amuse me soLife is like a bath, the longer you are in it the more wrinkly you become.0

I had a tan leather bag on the floor at a concert and someone next to me spilt a drink all over the floor which soaked through my bag. I thought it would be ruined and was pretty gutted but it actually dried out and only has a very faint mark on it now. I think it was Ribena or something dark as well so I was convinced it would be wrecked!0

OK, next time I post I'll make sure I pay more attention to my grammar, thanks for correcting me.0 -
The furniture clinic are very, very good. However they can be pricey, and please don't take offense at this OP but as the bag is not **that expensive it may not a worthwhile spend.
Take a trip over to The Purse Forum, they are mostly higher end than Modalu but there will probably be some helpful advice.
**Just to clarify, I realise that Modalu may seem expensive to some people but in handbag terms it is very cheap. Not meaning to offend anyone. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -

Try The Handbag Spa who are specialist handbag cleaners rather than furniture people - bags are treated in a very different way and need specialist treatment.
Hope this helpsLots of knowledge about leather0 -
I feel your pain OP!
I had a bottle of perfume in a Balenciaga classic day bag (tan leather), which leaked a circular spot the size and shape of a coffee cup onto the front of it. The bag cost me ~ 500 quid (in the sale at net-a-porter), so I was gutted! I never did manage to get it out, although it has faded with time (was a couple of years ago). The bl00dy perfume that was wasted was coco mademoiselle EDP as well!
Sorry if that's not what you wanted to hear OP but I can say that I learned an expensive lesson and am now much, much more careful about these things.
Hope you have better luck than I did!Remember Occam's Razor - the simplest explanation is usually the right one.
