Syria - is it built into markets?

Because terrorist groups have never used Sarin gas?
And not forgetting governments -moral grandstanding by governments that have dumped depleted uranium, white phosphorus and Agent Orange around the region and beyond.

Does anyone here think the Syrian crisis will cause a mass market crash - say 30, 40, 50% drop - I say crash - what I mean is mass buying opportunity.0

What right does he do to express an opinion as to what he thinks people should do? Every right in the world.
Why on earth would you think he hasn't?
We do have freedom of speech, on the whole, in the UK, even if you wish it were otherwise.0 -

Without wanting to seem like I'm losing a sense of perspective with what REALLY matters in the world, this is supposed to be a Savings & Investments forum and we're straying from the point of this thread which is the impact of the crisis on the markets ... so thanks for getting us back on track, Flock.
I don't see there being much of a drop at all, IMHO, certainly not a massive crash. I'm not planning to sell up just yet anyway, and my bank shares bounced back quite nicely after a "good" kicking yesterday.:)0 -

Syria on it's own isn't going to shake the world, if israel and Iran get dragged in all bets are off.0 -
Someone from the UN has been quoted saying there are "strong, concrete suspicions but not yet incontrovertible proof” that rebels used nerve agents: http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/may/6/syrian-rebels-used-sarin-nerve-gas-not-assads-regi/I only know of one Terrorist group (rich and well connected in Japan) that used sarin in a limited attack. 99% of sarin deaths have been at the hands of govt on their own people as far as I can see (although no diffinitive reports from the iran/iraq war as to casualties where this could skew results but these were two enemy combatants so a third category in all).
There are also rebel videos which seem to show them using chemical weapons: http://shoebat.com/2013/08/27/evidence-syrian-rebels-used-chemical-weapons-not-assad/
Non-intervention can be the route of least harm. People calling for intervention can't exclusively claim the moral high ground.0 -

I am not giving predictions from my Sheep Dog any more because some people appeared to be displeased with his views :eek:0 -
Was that because he was doing better than the 'professionals' :eek:A_Flock_Of_Sheep wrote: »I am not giving predictions from my Sheep Dog any more because some people appeared to be displeased with his views “It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it.” --Upton Sinclair0
