I just ring your insurance tell them what happened and they take it from there0

Don't worry about it, these things happen. I'm sure you can sort something out with the owner of the car, and its nice he's not overreacting about it.
Get a few quotes to see how much the repair is going to be, if its too much then it looks like you'll have to claim on the insurance. But I'm sure your dad will understand, these things happen.0 -
I'll let my dad know tomorrow before the insurance company do. No matter how mad he does or doesn't get.. he didn't need to put me on the insurance so its the chance he took. At least I haven't killed or injured a person.... yet.
I'm stressing loads though. Already paying a fortune for insurance as was wanting to go on my own next year. Just hope his doesn't take a huge hike as his is pretty low0 -
to say you reversed you must of went fast to do damage to is Bumper Reinforcement0

I wouldn't say it was that fast, couldn't say for sure though as it happened so quickly, the car wasn't directly behind me so did have time to gather a bit of speed ( nothing like 20mph or anything like that though ) there was a pretty loud bang,0 -
just after hope insurance don't higher the insurance on next quote but usal cases it does but you just after deal with the issue0

actually the bumper COVER is designed to fold in on impact no matter what the speed, the bumper (peice of rigid alu or steel) is designed to take the impact but it usually takes out the crossmember aswell.
a crossmeber can be £150 upwards depending on vehicle and availability, bumper bar £100 upwards, bumper cover £150 upwards, bumper trims as most bumpers only come without trim attached, clips, ties, brackets, primer sealer, base coat, laquer, bake oven costs factored in aswell as hidden damage to structure such as front cage.
a garage body shop is not going to source second hand parts unless instructed to, i doubt this guy will want to go that rout so will quote from the main suppliers for new patterns or main dealer for OEM parts aswell.0 -
I'm just dreading telling him.. more so than the insurance hike. Feel like a naughty child0

i just reread the post and your on dads insurance, does dad have another car in his name?
the angle the insurers can take here is possibility of fronting.
do you use the car more than dad does?0
