So you threatened to cancel because of cost and now you are paying more?

It does start a new contract, but that is fine. And yes I'm paying £3 more but have the extra sport channels. It's costing me less than watching them in a pub and a lot less than signing up on the website.

That depends on whether you mean the money or the contract.

If you mean the money then sky are the losers (and I forgot to mention this above). I will be paying them less in the next 12 months than if I had left things as they are. The reason is that I can remove sky sports at any time. Even if I keep it for the whole season that is less than 9 months. I'll save £60 in the 3 months I don't have sky sports, but will only have paid £27 more than normal in the previous 9 months.

If you mean the contract then fair enough, although if I'd have switched from sky to someone else I'd have had a contract with them instead.

If I can find the range of TV I want to watch elsewhere then I will leave sky altogether, but it would be difficult to find football I can watch on my TV, in 5.1 surround sound and HD, with no pop-up adverts and a guaranteed feed until the end of the match. Sky's monopoly of football is annoying, but its much cheaper than buying tickets.
