Blocked myself off this site in error with leechblock, which is a good thing. Good thing because I am blocked of loads of sites so therefore cannot procrastinate. Bad because I couldn’t update my thread and come on MSE for motivation.

Anyways, since my last update, had another stab at bread, it did rise more than last time but I still need to get the hand of it, third time lucky hopefully. Once I have mastered the bread, will move on to cereal bars ;)

Spent £46 on skincare on Saturday which is a lot but considering I have not spent a single penny other than on travel, necessary bills, makeup-course and grocery shopping since the 12th August ( it was my mum’s bday), I feel quite proud of myself. Have continued to transfer a £1 a day to AMEX which is a good habit I now have and once debts are paid off I will transfer £1 or more daily to savings.

    Grocery is still decreasing
    w/c 16/8 - £77.42
    w/c 23/8 – 42.59
    w/c 30/8 – 20.12
    w/c 6/9 – 18.54 so far

Hope everyone else is still going strong, have to get back to work now, :)
  • Well done on your achievements you are doing brilliantly.

I think £46 is fairly reserved for skin care as its very easy to spend ridiculous amounts on it. A friend of mine spend £175 on some serum recently, so I think £46 is impressive - well done hunny.

I think I could do with blocking myself from here at times, however if its a choice between here and online shopping this is the safest bet.

Love homemade bread, sure your third attempt will be a huge success. Well done on the shopping budget too.

  • Thanks EWO, reading you and LMD's post today was so inspiring. Today I felt a wee bit crappy because I had my 3rd day of spending. Yesterday £7.49 for a coach to the airport for my hols next week, well I guess that's better than twenty something quid. £3.87 on lunch I bought :( , then today spent £13.49 on some superfoods, Wheatgrass and Spirulina and keep justifying it to myself how healthy it is. Oh dear:mad: On a positive note I made £160 yesterday eve from market research :T still feel guilty though but not sure why. Still paying £1 to AMEX but just wish it was more :(

  • You are doing brill.... Every change your making is a positive step in the right direction.

£160 is fantastic and yes you've spent some money but that's nothing compared to what you've made. I would say that it's necessary spending and bargain purchases too so stop beating yourself up.

My PADS for the rest of the month are likely to be small too. If you think it's only a pound it's going to get you down however 30 x£1 is an extra £30 in a month that you wouldn't have paid. For me that 'only' a pound a day is collectively around a 20% monthly overpayment on my loan.

It might be a long haul but we can do this together xx

  • Aww thanks so much EWO, you've put things into perspective, feeling better but there is a lingering thought in my head kinda saying "tut tut, you've been spending", lol. I'm going to keep going and aiming for 3 - 4 NSDs.

    Have spent since last post
£2ish for a cranberry juice in a pub, extortionate!
£1.99 for nail varnish, if you saw my nails right now you would say yes, you should definitely buy some varnish for those hideous nails.
£9.42:mad: was naughty and bought lunch in boots and some milk of magnesia, i needed it, I use it to take the shine over my incredibly oily oily oily skin.

but...... on a positive note, I have still paid £1 a day to AMEX, although I wasn't happy when they lumped their interest charge on the bill. I am determined to get rid of it next paid day. Another positive, did our weekly shop and it came to £14.56 so

    w/c 16/8 - £77.42

    w/c 23/8 – 42.59
    w/c 30/8 – 20.12
    w/c 6/9 – 18.54
    w/c 13/9 - 14.56 and received 0.76p off tesco voucher :T

Can't to make my third attempt at bread this weekend, wish me luck
