Can't believe it, I'm in debt again! Definitely not as much as I was in before but the fact is, I've taken steps back and feeling guilty :(

So going to lay it all on the table and hopefully claw my way back. The aim is be debt free and saving again by the end of 2013. So here's my expenditures and debts.

OH and I pay half each so my half of the bills are:-
Rent - 397.85
Broadband- 11.00
Water - 16.00
Electric - 37.00 (just switched:T to save so hoping it will decrease!)
Council Tax - 47.00
Groceries - 100 ( it's a new thing me and the OH are doing so we don't overspend)
Mobile -14.00
Travel - 60.00
Work Union - 9.09 ( this is crucial, they have helped so much)
Total 674.85

Debts :( and:mad:
Amex- £2800 ( I cut that baby up and I'm now paying it off)
Mastercard - £450
Overdraft - £2000 ( which I live out of, I need to decrease it!)

Wages - £1650 but pay rise of £200 at the end of September :T
Going to write down my expenditures here for each day, until I get out of debt! I'm also going to try the cash diet, starting with £25 for the next 5 weeks. If no one reads this at least I have written down for the world to see as motivation.

  • what's a cash diet?

  • sorry, it may be called something else. It is when you withdraw a certain amount of cash per week and you can only spend that amount. Your bills don't come into this.

I have just gone through all my finances and completed a daily finance excel sheet, I love excel spreadsheets! I have also just joined four other challenges, the September NSD, september grocery challenge, make a payment a day and clear your debt before XMAS 13. I also did a meal planner the other day so.....wish me luck and good luck with all your financial plans too :T
  • Sounds like you have everything in control, no need for luck. Well done xx

Thanks EWO, I just looked at your thread and got inspired to do the payment a day challenge as recommended by LMD.
  • LMD is a star at PADing, I'm a bit of a lightweight when it comes to it. Cracking idea, however as I'm still a novice I'm constantly scared that if I pay too much extra I will run out of money! Silly I know as its not a disaster to have no money for a few days.

I have my two accounts sorted now so hopefully next month I will have more scope for doing it as I know it's just grocery shopping and treat money that I'm dipping into rather than bill money.

I'm up for giving it a go next month if you fancy joining me xx

Yes definitely, just paid a £1 to debts, not much but I figured it's something. That £1 someone would find a way to add interest on it I'm sure, ha ha. Have a great day. :)

I have £9.95 to last until Friday because I have to pay for a damn taxi for work which is £20. Definitely not a NSD :(
