So, I paid my £1 to my AMEX like a good little girl and begrudgingly put £20 on my oyster card. Then, I had market research today and the facilitator was ill so I got sent off and paid £80 for doing sweet FA. Then I have just realised that I have made £6.05 from yesterday morning from some cashback site again for literally doing nothing! Then.....payday tomorrow, whoopee!:T

OH and I have also decided to ditch our £200 a month waitrose shop in these austere times and have gone over to LIDL and Asda. We did a weekly shop for dinner and lunch everyday, some fruits and snacks for under £20, amazing!

  • Got paid £12.00 more than expected, bonus! Have spent this morning already going over excel sheet, paying here and there and actually my leftover pay won't be as bad as expected. The £160 I'm hopefully getting from a focus group will definitely help too.

I didn't understand why people didn't include their grocery shopping and travel on the nsd, I understand now. Today £600 goes to joint account to cover half of utilities and bills, £100 of it for groceries but I am working on getting that down so we can use leftovers for date night etc. Paid 1041 for weekend make course:mad: but it will be worth it. £20.00 on travel which i top up weekly but I'm not going to include travel because I need to spend money to get to work! £68.00 to Amex and going to pay the whole card of next payday with backpay from work, can't wait to get that off my shoulders. So in a nutshell my problem area is spending on crap other than groceries and travel so anything outside that, I will report! The aim for this month is to have £400 for holiday or it will be pretty crap, I refuse to touch my savings. Have a good day guys, I hope it's a really positive one xxxxxxxxxxx

Just killed a wasp, feeling slightly guilty, ooops!
  • After hearing EWO's wasp experience I would have done the same!! £12 extra is a nice surprise :)

You sound like you have a battle plan for September already, I found the little spends stopped when I stopped carrying cash. I have had £3 in my purse all week and that's it. It's still there! Any loose change less than a £1 goes in my car change pot... Which reminds me, maybe I should count and bank it!

If its not in my purse I don't tend to spend...!

  • From my angle, kill a few wasps for me. Little blighters stung me 4 times last Sunday.

Hope yours still feeling positive and having a good weekend xx

I’m so sad, lol, I used this site called leechblock to stop myself going on certain sites so I can study all weekend. So, I kept a diary on the side, ready to copy and paste Tuesday.

So Friday, since the last post at the crack of dawn on Friday, very proud of my work colleague who left her cards and some money at work to deny herself access to cash, that’s determination! We also are doing come dine with me “at lunch” on £5 to feed five people, reckon it will be easy to feed people but presentation might be tricky. Anyways, got a voucher at sainsburys, £3 off £20 shop and a double points voucher, I only bought sultanas for 84p! I have mindfully thought, I will see next week Friday if it will be beneficial for me to shop at sainsburys to use the voucher first.

Saturday, my current Amex balance is 2730.92 so have paid 0.92 pence and will pay a pound a day for 30 days, bringing me to 2700 by my next pay day ready for me to pay the remainder, nail biting stuff! I know what you are thinking, well what about the interest fee you’ll get you ask? Well, I am going to sell stuff from my ebay pile purposely to cover the interest cost. I am so busy this month I just don’t have time to sell as much ebay stuff as I’d like. An NSD day, I’m not counting paying of debts as spending.

Sunday - £1 to AMEX and another NSD.

I also started using cupboard ingredients up yesterday, we have so much four. Anyways, baked a veggie mince pie and made veggie mince shepherds pie to last us four days and made OH lunch (egg fried rice) to last him 3 days. Whilst cooking watched the 1st series of superscrimpers, how sad am I. Oh yes, I baked bread, big fail, it didn’t rise but tasted yum, I didn’t take steps to reactivate the yeast, duh!

Monday - £1 to AMEX and another NSD, yay!
Also did calculations on how our grocery shopping has decreased since the 16/8 but yet we’re having better food! OH is also happy he’s getting home cooked food for lunch, result! Have started from the 16/8 because we have our receipts from then so…

    w/c 16/8 - £77.42
    w/c 23/8 – 42.59
    w/c 30/8 – 20.12 so far, I’m predicting £25.00 max
    w/c 6/9 –

Also realised I’m running out of skincare and I spend a lot of money on skincare, that is one indulgence I will not give up, unless I was drowning in debt. I also want some ray bans, not necessary so I have said I refuse to use my credit card so if I want it or my expensive skincare I have to either sell stuff from my ebay pile or do some more market research.

Later on Monday…. Just fixed my fake ray bans, so happy! No need for new ones now! How did I fix them you ask? I bent them on my face!

Today- I managed to sneak OH’s laptop to update NSD challenge the other days but not everywhere like er…my own actual thread. He is aware I blocked myself of this site and would probably give me a telling off, pa ha ha! So for today, £1 to AMEX and NSD, yay!:T

Hope everyone is continuing to save their days with watching those pennies. Keep going everyone:j
  • Has anyone read this and is it any good?

Can't believe I have just spent half and hour n MSE, well I got my fix for the day :rotfl:
  • That made me chuckle, you're doing super well and look how your grocery shopping is coming down! :T

I also 'fixed' my Karen Millen sunnies by bending them on my head... Worked a treat first time but the second time resulted in a lens popping out :(

Brilliant weekend update post, keep it up as you're doing fab
