Name & Shame links on MSE

Why are name and shame links removed from the ebay discussion board on MSE? I can see no reference to this in the stickys. And it goes against the principles of MSE - where, on every other discussion board it is allowed.
As long as the truth is written what's the problem?

Because it leaves the owners of the forum wide open to litigation? The money, Dave...0 -
Are they perhaps removed to protect the victim's ebay identity?
I don't mind naming and shaming, although in a forum with minimal traffic such as this one, I don't think naming one of the many thousands of ebay sellers out there serves much of a purpose.

The problem with naming and shaming individuals is that it is open to huge amounts of abuse. That one person who has irritated anyone, suddenly gets named and shamed on here out of revenge, and then of course can sue for libel. The amount of policing that it would need, to check out every individual case to ensure that all the facts are accurate, would be horrendous.
This is a free site and Board Guides are volunteers, not policeman. So it is easier to have a blanket no advert/no name and shame policy.
However, my interpretation of the rules are only 'my views'. Soolin,
So what you are saying is you have no explicit authority to remove people's "name and shame links". Yet you do so, even though you must also realise that every other board (certainly all the ones I've been on here) on MSE allows naming and shaming.0 -

There are (nearly) always two sides to any story and everyone adds there own little bit of spin to that story. What is to stop anyone who has their own agenda posting defamatory and libelous comments?
I had a buyer who immersed an item in water to claim it was faulty, they would tell you a totally different story from my version of events and if this idea was allowed I could be "named and shamed" and my sales would dive, where would I seek restitution? First place would be MSE!0
