But its a Mondeo. Bit like saying 'no point shagging Sharapova, just have a go on Lisa Riley. She has the same running gear but MUCH MUCH cheaper.'
Good cars. The only thing that would put me off them now is the dual mass flywheel issues for a diesel.
Petrol Mondeo shouldn't be an issue....What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -

Lol Keep saying it enough and maybe you will even start believing it yourself
The reps at our place use Mundanos and don't stop whining about them.
Particularly the cheap plastics used on the aluminium effect dash which shows signs of wear in less than a year!!!
Ford can only dream of competing with the likes of Jaguar BMW and Mercedes.
To say they are competing shows how little you know about the vehicles in question.0 -

How little you know. As I said above, I have had two Mondeo's - my current one a Mk4 Ghia estate auto. No plastic aluminium to show signs of wear. Plastic quality top notch and equal to BMW and MB.
I've had the Mk4 for two years this month and it's not had a day off the road in that time apart from having a tow bar fitted and servicing. It returns 43mpg on regular derv. And who said they are competing? Not me!
It's the most comfortable car I've ever had.
So stop talking about other people's opinions. If you've not owned a Mondy, then stop knocking them until you have."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -

For a fair comparison, how many BMW and MB cars have you owned?0 -

One Beemer 3 series - didn't like it although I do prefer rear wheel drive. It was reliable but the service parts cost a fortune and labour charges at Bowker BMW even more! I've not owned a Merc but my best friend has a C class which I have driven on several occasions. It is a very pleasant car, nice quality, but legroom and headroom in the back is poor with four up.
The Mondy stands up well in comparison to both of them."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
We used Mondeos as response cars in central London.
We also used BMW 530d's.
We broke both of them with alarming regularity, but when in service both were good cars. The BMW's had the slight edge in interior durability, but the mondeos were by no means bad.
However, I've had 2 mates run Ford mondeos (2004-2006 vintage, not old cars exactly) and both have had diesel injector faults which in the end lead to the cars being sold or scrapped for very little return. For that reason I'd never recommend a diesel one.0 -

2.5 v6 51 reg ( "new shape" ) silver Zetec S 5 door. Was 6 months old when we bought it, had it for just over a year and did 22,000 miles in that time
Next question?0 -

Next question?
A 51 reg is a first production run Mk3, not the new shape which is a Mk4 or even a Mk4.5, which is the current model. Next point? (But pleased for you it was reliable enough to do 22k in 12 months)."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry.
