You've shot yourself in the foot under SOGA anyway - the retailer has the right to repair, replace or refund. You didn't give them chance to repair, so they don't have to do anything.0

You are lucky garage isn't charging for storage costa. You have to pony up the cash somehow or just lose the car because it will get more expensive if courts get involved0
