not sure about the Sky confirming your commitment, as my husband asked if it would be confirmed in letter rep said no, it will show on your account. So can I try for mis selling?

We cant cancel add-ons as we only have basic package anyway.

Your mis-selling is their mis-buying! If your partner hadn't agreed or spoke to sky, then you would not be in this situation. If your online account shows the revised details (new minimum term, increased benefits etc) and your attention was drawn to this, then that would suffice.

If it doesn't then you can argue your revised commitments wasn't made clear - but it may take much effort to get them to wind back the changes.

I see, you are signed up to Entertainment Extra +.
That gum you like is coming back in style.
  • If you only have SSP coming in, wouldn't you cancel sky completely?

I wish they'd ring me with the same offer. I'd quite happily pay nothing to upgrade to EE+ for 12 months (I'd cancel it afterwards though).
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

How was the Sky agent supposed to know that your OH couldn't make a decision because of a medical condition? They are not mind readers.

Did you tell them at the beginning of your contract with them that your OH was not authorised to change the account?

Why did OH have the account password if he is incapable of making account decisions?

What actions have you now taken to prevent your OH from doing the same with other services?

Do you have Power of Attorney for him; after all, you are saying he is in capable of making reasoned decisions?

It is up to you to properly manage such situations... What would you have Sky do? Run a "competency test" before ever entering into agreements?

If your OH was authorised to make account decisions and had the account password then where is the mis-selling?

Agree with the above-the discussion you need to have is not with Sky, but with your partner.
A verbal contract is legally binding, and there is no statutory cooling-off period on a contract extension.
