^ hi joe134 I posted on the other thread and here's another option
1. DISCONNECT from internet
EDIT 2a. boot into safe mode
EDIT 2b. restore to 22/8 (before Rapport update - you said yours was 12/8)
EDIT 2c. in normal mode...
3. uninstall "Rapport"
4. reconnect internet
NB. if you haven't used restore before its a bit drastic BUT doesn't affect any personal files.0 -

esspresso has given me a link, but, I have to wait for it via e-mail.so cannot use that.
got thier logs they requested, but no f888888 e-mail address to send them to.looked everywhere. back to chatline, bank holiday my a88e;;;
what a escapade.I presume 12/8 is yankee time?
but, never noticed when it changed.
I would sooner get the bloody thing off, but, even that,s a headache;just been on hsbc, no pop up, no mention of rapport, so it must still have me down as registered, even if it aint working.some safety device eh;;0 -
I removed Trusteer/Rapport from all of our computers when things started to wrong, it was definitely Rapport causing the conflict. We have upgraded from McAfee (ugh) to Trend Platinum. it gives better protection that Rapport. Well in my opinion.0

If you believe the update was 12/8 I would try a restore to that dateHi G, have just restored it back to couple days ago, BUT, cannot uninstal using ADD/REMOVE.
(or look for a restore point at that date with the text "Rapport".)
I don't have a great experience of restore, but the 2 I have done recently worked ok. Its upto you whether you you try this to 12/8. My guess is that it will enable you to uninstall the original Rapport and avoid TEP.0 -
I have a Mac computer so I don't use any virus checkers, but every time I logged into my Santander bank account it popped up advising me to install it, so in the end I just thought it must be a bank thing so installed it! My Mac started to go wrong which was extremely unusual! The screen was freezing and slow to load etc, so after giving it some thought I decided it must be Rapport,I got rid of it, then my computer was A1 again.Low Carb High Fat is the way forward I lost 80 lbs
Since first using Martins I have saved thousands0 -
My neighbour had problems with her PC after installing Rapport - Just about slowed it down to Sinclair Spectrum state (ah, memories)
I "removed" it but had to be logged in as an Administrator to use Add/Remove Progs.
Try this to get enable Administrator priviliges but disable it after removing Rapport if your PC is shared.

Interestingly, Kaspersky identified Rapport as a key-logger (which it is apparently) and Trusteer's help desk told her to disable the Key logger protection in KIS because Rapport did the same function."It's nice to be important but more important to be nice"

on chatline again, for e-mail address to send logs. he gave it to me.
I then asked for removal tool, he asked WHY?
I told him , it,s corrupt, not fit for purpose, he said, send logs and await the outcome.
I demanded the tool, then he gave me the same link esspresso gave me, and I told him, already done that, no e-mail;.
He then, reluctantly sent the e-mail with tool, and now I,ve removed it, but not the files as yet, same procedure.
Don,t they think they are someone;
once it,s on your system, they make sure you cannot get it off, unless via them. saves turning clock back.won,t put it back on again.0 -
You've removed the program but not the files. Which files? (sorry didn't read all the way back).
EDIT: sorry - I think I know what you mean - the left-over Rapport files which are all over the place.
The main question, is your original problem fixed?
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4749306
And was it Rapport that was the problem or are you not sure? Cheers.0 -
I have just removed it from all 3 of my computers.
Removed no problem.0 -

I can only assume it was Rapport, I didn,t even notice it wasn,t working, and they had changed it, no warning.
When they removed it, it said restart, tried several times, using thier restart, my own, shut down, ended up using, on/off button again.
gone now, and shuts down ok, ( original problem)
only time will tell if it was rapport;;never know for sure, but, cleanboot signified a third party problem;;and that was the only one that was likely.Until you mentioned it, I never noticed anything amiss, so thanks.
edit;;;ps;;have you tried re-downloading new version again? tep0
